Assembly script

Life is a complicated affair otherwise none of us would have had to attend school for so long. In a similar vein, the correct application of statistics has to be learned gradually through experience and guidance. Often enough, the available data does not fit simple patterns and more detective work is required than one cares for. Usually a combination of several simple tests is required to decide a case. For this reason, a series of more complex examples was assembled. The presentation closely follows the script as the authors experienced it these are real-life examples straight from the authors fields of expertise with only a few of the more nasty or confusing twists left out. [Pg.175]

The basic idea is that, to assemble a larger component or application, the composer of components (a) selects which components to compose (b) connects required interfaces of one component to provided interfaces of others to plug them together and (c) perhaps writes some glue using scripting or adapters between components. [Pg.412]

The script can change from one promoter to another, but most promoters seem to require a precisely ordered assembly of components to initiate transcription. The assembly process is not always fast. The names STDIN and STDOUT are derived from standard input and standard output, an idea popularized by the UNIX operating system. Standard input and standard output are abstract files from which a script can accept input and send output, respectively. When a script is first launched, standard input corresponds to the keyboard and standard output corresponds to the computer screen. On Windows and UNIX systems, standard output appears in the command interpreter window. On Macs, the output appears in a small scrolling window that MacPerl creates specifically for this pmpose. When a Perl script is laimched, the user has the option of changing where standard input and output come from and go to. The user can also arrange for the standard output of one script to be sent to the standard input of another script in assembly-line fashion. You can readily use advice offered in these sections to help you prepare the outline for your presentation. Assemble and organize, in your script, more ideas and information than you will need during your presentation. Adopt the approach that you know or will learn much more about your topic than you will actually share during your formal remarks. Plan to ask the audience for something and to ask it early. To generate the profile information and the data-width of registers value, we use a modified sim-profile simulator, which can produce detailed profiles on the data-width values and other factors.
