More important and more widely applicable criteria of protonation sites are available in the effects of more distant substituents, in particular meta and para in benzene derivatives, which are as a rule purely electronic in origin. Exceptionally, they may be complicated by steric effects (e.g., in polysubstituted derivatives). The working group CEN TC 275/WG 5 searched for performance criteria to be used in mycotoxin analysis and came up with a document reporting the criteria for the selection of methods (26). The criteria deal with limits of detection, minimum performance characteristics, extraction solvents, and applicability. Criteria for analytical methods in mycotoxin analysis are also included in Directive 98/53/EC (18). 

If the anharmonicity is small, it can be accounted for in the framework of the body of mathematics used in harmonic approximation. Such analysis was made elsewhere [88], and it was shown that the formulas for the rate constant remain unchanged, but the parameters involved—equilibrium coordinates and phonon frequencies—turn out to be temperature-dependent effective values. The applicability criteria for harmonic approximation were also obtained.

In order to obtain practically applicable criteria, several further considerations have to be made with respect to the axial temperature profile. First an assumption has to be made regarding all mdial temperature profiles along the length of the pipe, vdiich do... 

Many manufacturers now serve the market. Some of these offer standard units for well-proven applications, or for the user to determine their suitability. Others design for use, based upon experience and good practice. While many similar types of applications recur, permutations of the range of bulk products with differing applications and environmental conditions are so vast that it is common to find new duties for which no prior identical example of use can be drawn upon for performance verification. In such circumstances, the application criteria and basis of specification need to be established with some precision, as no feeder, screw type machine, or indeed any other form of handling equipment, can guarantee to handle a bulk material of unspecified condition. 

This sub-division has developed historically on the basis of viscosity and crosslinking temperatures. The advent of addition-crosslinking solid rubbers and low-temperature-vulcanizing LSR grades (LTV) has meant that the boundaries are now fluid. The choice of name is largely decided in the industry on the basis of certain application criteria and is therefore scientifically not really comprehensible. The scope of the viscosity level for the individual silicone rubbers is thus quite broad as Table 1 clearly shows. 

Provided the limitations of QSARs in environmental sciences are considered and the respective application criteria are complied with, structure-activity relationships can be a powerful tool for elucidating modes of interaction, screening the validity and the plausibility of experimental data, detecting of outliers and predicting activity parameters for product development, identification of priority pollutants and range finding for further testing. 

Unfortunately a very limited number of applications to industrial plants components have been realized. For this reason, in the present chapter the ap>plicability of such a technique is investigated, aiming at ptroviding general applicability criteria. An example of base isolation of a steel storage tank is also presented, whose effectiveness is investigated by a wide numerical and experimental activity. 

Extensive criticality calculations have been done for this rack to ensure that it meets the applicable criteria under all conditions. The calculations were performed using a four-energy-group, X-Y representation of the racks in the PDQ-07 (Ref. 4) program. Cross sections fo>r the POQ-07 model were obtained from LEOPARD (Ref. 5) super cell calculations, which also yielded fast and thermal spectra for use in RODWORTH (Ref. 6), a blackness theory code which was modified to account for boron particle self-shielding. The resulting cross sections were then - used in a PDQ-07 calculation which explicitly modeled the system geometry.
