Anticorrosion protection

Treating petroleum oils with 3-5% calcium alkyl salicylate and 0.5-3% triethanolamine salts of phosphoric acid esters and ethoxylated dodecyl alcohol increases oxidation-thermal stability at 180-200°C in the manufacture of oil for metal parts quenching. The agent provides also short-term anticorrosion protection of the hardened articles [261]. Phosphoric acid salt alkyl esters are used in anticorrosives and aqueous dispersions in waterborne polyester coatings for metals [244]. [Pg.608]

The preparation of a corrosion inhibitor in the solid form allows the development of a new technique of continuous intensive anticorrosive protection for gas and oil pipelines, as well as for acidizing operations of oil wells [746]. The controlled dissolution of the solid inhibitor creates a thin protective layer on the metallic surface that prevents or minimizes the undesirable corrosion reactions. [Pg.85]

The metal-ceramic interface constitutes a class of materials with extremely relevant properties which are crucial to a large series of technological applications such as anticorrosion protection, microelectronics and also in the chemical industry where they are commonly employed as catalysts. For obvious reasons, the preparation for these different applications depends on the final use of the material and both metals on oxides or oxides on metals can be prepared. [Pg.34]

When these types of cutting fluids are manufactured, they typically will contain an ethanolamine salt or some form of emulsifying agent that is used to get the oil in solution. Many of the best formulations will contain triethanolamine salts because of their excellent ability to address what the chemist is looking for—typically, lubricity and anticorrosion protection. Typical ethanolamine salts of t-butylbenzoic acid, pentylbenzoic acid, hexylbenzoic acid, and p-butoxybenzoic acid have been chosen due to their favorable characteristics from the standpoint of cost, solubility, corrosion resistance, and load ability [3],... [Pg.17]

Corrosion tests of the means of temporary anticorrosion protection, to which inhibited plastics belong, are conducted using both laboratory and outdoor test methods [39,79-83]. [Pg.66]

In Fig. 2.2 the structure of UMC brand film materials produced by Japanese Nitto Co. is presented. The materials are used for hydrothermal insulation and anticorrosion protection of low-temperature pipelines transmitting liquefied gas. In these materials the barrier properties of the foil are supplemented by the strength of the polyester layer and the stability of the fluoroplastic layer to atmospheric effects [3]. [Pg.89]

Coatings for temporary protection are called preservative or rustproof. They are to ensure anticorrosion protection of products in the course of production (inter-operational period), storage and transportation. [Pg.233]

The efficiency of polymer materials as an anticorrosion mean of protection of metal parts from corrosion can be significantly raised by modification of polymer binders using corrosion inhibitors for metals. In this case it becomes possible to realize both the barrier and inhibition mechanisms for metal protection from corrosion in the anticorrosion element. Anticorrosion polymer elements as a source of electric field can hamper corrosion processes and corrosion-mechanical wear of metal parts by the electrochemical mechanism. Realization of the barrier, inhibition and electrochemical mechanisms of anticorrosion protection with the help of polymers not only allows a profound improvement in the anticorrosion protection of metal parts but comes close to the creation of smart anticorrosion plastics and anticorrosion systems. [Pg.392]
