And decoupling

Both experiments are based on polarization transfer from sensitive nuclei to insensitive nuclei, and therefore the mjyor portions of their pulse sequences are common. The INEPT experiment, without refocusing and decoupling, however, yields spectra with distorted" multiplets. For instance, the two lines of a doublet appear in antiphase with respect one another. Similarly, the central line of a triplet may be too small to be visible, while the outer two lines of the triplet will be antiphase to one another. Introducing a variable refocusing delay A and broadband decoupling in the INEPT sequence can convert this experiment into a more useful one. [Pg.139]

There are many advanced strategies in classical control systems. Only a limited selection of examples is presented in this chapter. We start with cascade control, which is a simple introduction to a multiloop, but essentially SISO, system. We continue with feedforward and ratio control. The idea behind ratio control is simple, and it applies quite well to the furnace problem that we use as an illustration. Finally, we address a multiple-input multiple-output system using a simple blending problem as illustration, and use the problem to look into issues of interaction and decoupling. These techniques build on what we have learned in classical control theories. [Pg.189]

Timm, Gilbert, Ko, and Simmons O) presented a dynamic model for an isothermal, continuous, well-mixed polystyrene reactor. This model was in turn based upon the kinetic model developed by Timm and co-workers (2-4) based on steady state data. The process was simulated using the model and a simple steady state optimization and decoupling algorithm was tested. The results showed that steady state decoupling was adequate for molecular weight control, but not for the control of production rate. In the latter case the transient fluctuations were excessive. [Pg.187]

The basic components of the solid state spectrometer are the same as the solution-phase instrument data system, pulse programmer, observe and decoupler transmitters, magnetic system, and probes. In addition, high-power amplifiers are required for the two transmitters and a pneumatic spinning unit to achieve the necessary spin rates for MAS. Normally, the observe transmitter for 13C work requires broadband amplification of approximately 400 W of power for a 5.87-T, 250-MHz instrument. The amplifier should have triggering capabilities so that only the radiofrequency (rf) pulse is amplified. This will minimize noise contributions to the measured spectrum. So that the Hartmann-Hahn condition may be achieved, the decoupler amplifier must produce an rf signal at one-fourth the power level of the observe channel for carbon work. [Pg.107]

To set up the simulation, we use the thermodynamic dataset from the calculation in Section 18.5, which was expanded to include mackinawite (FeS). As before, we suppress the iron sulfide minerals pyrite and troilite, and decouple acetate and methane from carbonate, and sulfide from sulfate. We set the aquifer to include a small amount of siderite, which serves as a sink for aqueous sulfide,... [Pg.479]

Detailed configurational and conformational analyses of the starting six-membered cyclic nitronates (356) of cationic intermediates (357), and (decoupling products (357 + Nu), taking into account slow nitrogen inversion (Ijv) in nitroso acetals (see Section 3.4.3.4.4), made it possible to propose a mechanistic model based on the stereochemical outcome of the C,C-coupling process (Chart 3.23). [Pg.638]

This book s techniques will help you partition and decouple software parts in a systematic way. [Pg.15]

No less than the code, the documentation must have a clear structure. Documentation that is separated and decoupled typically follows a prototypical form. [Pg.233]

Packages themselves are subject to packaging as nested packages ( Section 7.5), and a special form of encapsulation and decoupling applies to them (Section 7.6). When packages have multiple imports, you must be careful about what it means to import like-named elements from two sources and sometimes must explicitly rename some elements (Section 7.7). [Pg.310]

Application of Density Functional Theory in Organometallic Complexes A Case Study of Cp2M Fragment (M =Ti, Zr) in C—C Coupling and Decoupling Reactions... [Pg.193]

The possible mechanism for the formation of C—C coupled (1) and decoupled (2) bimetallic complexes from Cp2M has been investigated [1 lb,c]. We followed a stepwise procedure to arrive at a model that was practical and at the same time realistic. In the first stage, the substituted cyclopentadienyls were replaced by Cp and the substituents on acetylides and butadiynes were replaced by H. The relative energies showed that, the C—C coupled structure 1 for M = Ti when L = Cp and R = H is more stable than 2 by 3 kcal/mol, while 2 is calculated to be 14.8 kcal/mol... [Pg.203]

Therefore the discussions of the RGA INA, and decoupling techniques will be quite brief I include them, not because they are all that useful, but because they are part of the history of multivariable control. You should be aware of what they are and of their limitations. [Pg.575]
