Analog devices

Such design has allowed the authors to create the X-ray apparatus on a higher technological level in comparison with the previous analogous devices [1-4]. [Pg.430]

One widely used temperature sensor is the integrated circuit /VD590 introduced by Analog Devices. It generates a current whose value in (J.A (microamperes) is equal to the temperature in degrees Kelvin (K). [Pg.301]

This chapter includes two different sensor system architectures for monolithic gas sensing systems. Section 5.1 describes a mixed-signal architecture. This is an improved version of the first analog implementation [81,91], which was used to develop a first sensor array (see Sect. 6.1). Based on the experience with these analog devices, a complete sensor system with advanced control, readout and interface circuit was devised. This system includes the circular microhotplate that has been described and characterized in Sect. 4.1. Additionally to the fabrication process, a prototype packaging concept was developed that will be presented in Sect. 5.1.6. A microhotplate with a Pt-temperature sensor requires a different system architecture as will be described in Sect. 5.2. A fully differential analog architecture will be presented, which enables operating temperatures up to 500 °C. [Pg.61]

There are three basic types of controllers that are commonly used for continuous feedback control. The details of construction of the analog devices and the programming of the digital devices vary from one manufacturer to the next, but their basic functions are essentially the same. [Pg.222]

All the control systems that we have studied in previous parts of this book Lused continuous analog devices. All control signals were continuously generated by transmitters, fed continuously to analog controllers, and sent continuously to control valves. [Pg.613]

Fig. 11.4. Logarithmic amplifier, (a) Schematic of a logarithmic amplifier. A diode is used as the feedback element in a current amplifier. The current-voltage characteristics are exponential. The output voltage is then proportional to the logarithm of the input current, (b) The transfer curve of a typical logarithmic amplifier, AD757N from Analog Devices. The reference current is internally set to be 10 p,A. It is accurate up to six decades. Fig. 11.4. Logarithmic amplifier, (a) Schematic of a logarithmic amplifier. Another reason for the success of STSA techniques in the field of audio engineering is maybe the fact that they have a very intuitive interpretation they extend to a large number of sub-bands the principle of well known analog devices used for signal enhancement, such as the noise gate [Moorer and Berger, 1986] (see also [Etter and Moschytz, 1994] for a link with compandors). [Pg.384]

Analog Devices also has a 16 bit DSP (the ADSP-2100 series [Roesgen, 1986]) that has found some limited use in audio applications. The 2100 series has limited on chip memory and a limited number of pins (14) for the external memory. Use of a common bus for arithmetic results limits the amount of processor parallelism. However, unlike... [Pg.411]

The PLC provides more expanded options for control and changes to control. They are provided with many different (I/O) cards such as, digital, analog, device net, modbus, and Internet Protocal (IP). Along with a human machine interface (HMI), the combination makes a solid control system for water treatment. High end PLC RO systems offer pretreatment control, along with multiple external valve option, post-treatment DI, and external pumps. [Pg.116]
