Case Example A 37-year-old schizoaffective patient was treated with thioridazine (100 mg by mouth q.i.d.), phenytoin (100 mg by mouth q.i.d.), and amitriptyline (50 mg by mouth q.i.d.). The patient had been stabilized on this regimen for several weeks, but then complained of daytime sedation. The treating physician therefore combined all three into a single bedtime regimen.
