Alignment material coating

As mentioned above, conductive network can be formed via fine contacts of aligned CB coated PET microfibrils. Additionally, the high t values suggest the existence of the tunneling conduction. Hence, contact conduction and tunneling conduction synergetically form the conductive networks of the ACPC material. 

Both the coating of the alignment material and the alignment processes can be freed from any mechanical contacts by using this technique.

Filtering the tube suspension through a 0.2 xm pore ceramic paper leaves a uniform black deposit on the paper and can produce aligned CNT films [30]. The deposited material was transferred on a thin Teflon sheet by pressing the tube-coated side of the filter on the plastic and then the filter was lifted off to expose the surface. Scanning electron microscopic study reveals that the tubes are highly aligned perpendicular to the Teflon surface [30]. 

Nanocarbon hybrids have recently been introduced as a new class of multifunctional composite materials [18]. In these hybrids, the nanocarbon is coated by a polymer or by the inorganic material in the form of a thin amorphous, polycrystalline or single-crystalline film. The close proximity and similar size domain/volume fraction of the two phases within a nanocarbon hybrid introduce the interface as a powerful new parameter. Interfacial processes such as charge and energy transfer create synergistic effects that improve the properties of the individual components and even create new properties [19].
