The material in this study consisted of aluminium nitride and pure chromium powder from Alfa Aesar (Johnson Matthey, Karlsruhe, Germany), chromium(llI)nitride and aluminium powder from Sigma-Aldrich (Munich, Germany). The particle sizes of the powders were around 40 microns. The chromium(lII)nitride powder consists of 85% Cr N and 15% CrN. Four different groups of compositions were made, as shown in figure 1. [Pg.3]

Binary Pt-Ru (50 50) catalyst particles from Alfa Aesar Johnson Matthey have been deposited on different kinds of nanotubes. To ensure the same distribution and amount of catalyst and to pronounce only effect of a support, the deposition of catalyst particles from ethanol suspension was applied for all the nanotubular materials. Comparison of results obtained from the alkylation of benzene with dodecene with the resulting catalysts made by the two immobilization methods revealed, in particular, excellent activity and selectivity for the materials obtained by cation grafting. Furthermore, these initial - but highly promising - results have been accompanied by an increased industrial interest for commercialization of these grafted ionic liquid catalyst systems.
