Aim of the Report

This is part of the environmental issues series of the UK Environment Agency. The report provides an overview of plastics looking at manufacture, uses and disposal. The aim of the report is to make recommendations on ways to ensure that society s use of plastics is more sustainable in the future. 

The principle aim of the reported studies was to model structures, conformational equilibria, and fluxionality. Parameters for the model involving interactionless dummy atoms were fitted to infrared spectra and allowed for the structures of metallocenes (M = Fe(H), Ru(II), Os(II), V(U), Cr(II), Cofll), Co(ni), Fe(III), Ni(II)) and analogues with substituted cyclopentadienyl rings (Fig. 13.3) to be accurately reproduced 981. The preferred conformation and the calculated barrier for cyclopentadienyl ring rotation in ferrocene were also found to agree well with the experimentally determined data (Table 13.1). This is not surprising since the relevant experimental data were used in the parameterization procedure. However, the parameters were shown to be self-consistent and transferable (except for the torsional parameters which are dependent on the metal center). An important conclusion was that the preference for an eclipsed conformation of metallocenes is the result of electronic effects. Van der Waals and electrostatic terms were similar for the eclipsed and staggered conformation and the van der Waals interactions were attractive 981. It is important to note, however, that these conclusions are to some extent dependent on the parameterization scheme, and particularly on the parameters used for the nonbonded interactions. 

The aim of the Reports has been to provide a summary and assessment of reactions and methods in organic chemistry which are new (or useful variants of existing ones) and appear sufficiently general to be useful in synthesis.

The aim of the newly introduced mesoporosity is to enhance the utilization of the microporous network by improved accessibihty of the active sites that are mostly present in the micropores. Although numerous papers have reported on the improved catalytic performance of desihcated zeolites in catalysis (details in Section 2.4.5), only few works are available that reaUy tackle the hierarchical nature of the desihcated zeohtes and demonstrate that selective sihcon removal leads to an enhanced physical transport in the zeohte crystals. 

The aim of this report is to examine the principles of shear stress on particles that would allow the design of bioreactors for technical use, mainly stirred tanks, bubble columns and loop reactors. 

To date, many of the reported ADME/Tox models have been rule based. For example, some research groups have used relatively simple filters like the rule of 5 [93] and others [94] to limit the types of molecules evaluated with in silico methods and to focus libraries for HTS. However, being designed as rapid computational alert tools aimed at a single property of interest, they cannot offer a comprehensive picture when it comes to understanding ADME properties. 

The aim of this report is to compare, contrast and synthesize country experience in dmg regulation on the basis of data collected in 1998-1999 in the 10 countries which participated in the WHO multicountry study on effective dmg regulation. 

Explanation. This last step aims at reaehing a fuller eomprehension of the phenomenon. Contrasting descriptions must find here a synthesis. A satisfying explanation cannot be reached by examining the deseriptions of the report of a sii le model, but must consider a whole set of models. As members of the ehemieal community we also require that the explanation so obtained applies to the "objeets" of the real word of which the model is a sehematic representation. 

The aim of the present paper is to report on the solution structure of polymers, to show how structure-property relationships can be derived in a simple manner, so that they can be used for technical applications. Some predictions will also be made concerning the viscous and elasticity yield as well as polymer shear stability. To demonstrate these theoretical predictions narrowly distributed polystyrene samples will mainly be used as examples.

This report documents the ACW II Committee s completion of its final task. Since 1997, the ACW I and ACW II Committees have produced four full reports and one letter report (NRC, 1999,2000a, 2001a, 2001b, 2001c). Usually, NRC study committees are constituted to produce only a single report during their tenure. The aim of the ACW I and ACW II Committees has been to provide constructive advice to PM ACW A. Questions that committee members asked at meetings attended by the ACWA team and its support contractors have supplemented the advice contained in the reports. 

A third total synthesis of luciduline in its racemic form was reported by Szychowski and MacLean in 1979 [14]. The final aim of the authors was to synthesise an intermediate which may be involved in the biosynthesis not only of luciduline itself but also of other members of the Lycopodium alkaloids family. 

It was with this in mind that in 1967 the Society launched the Specialist Periodical Reports series. The aim of the series is to provide systematic and comprehensive review coverage of the progress in the major areas of chemical research. By the end of 1973 the series will have reached some 32 titles each being published in annual, or in a few cases biennial, volumes. 

The aim of the book is not to turn non-statisticians into statisticians. I do not want you to go away from this book and do statistics. It is the job of the statistician to provide statistical input to the development plan, to individual protocols, to write the statistical analysis plan, to analyse the data and to work with medical writing in producing the clinical report also to support the company in its interactions with regulators on statistical issues. 

The aims of the book are really three-fold. Firstly, to aid communication between statisticians and non-statisticians, secondly, to help in the critical review of reports and publications and finally, to enable the more effective use of statistical arguments within the regulatory process. We will take each of these points in turn.
