Agents ability

The deaning agents ability to remove residues of raw materials, precursors, by-products, intermediates, or APIs ... [Pg.730]

Titanium is important as an alloying agent with aluminum, molybdenum, manganese, iron, and other metals. Alloys of titanium are principally used for aircraft and missiles where lightweight strength and ability to withstand extremes of temperature are important. [Pg.76]

Fluorides. Tantalum pentafluoride [7783-71-3] TaF, (mp = 96.8° C, bp = 229.5° C) is used in petrochemistry as an isomerization and alkalation catalyst. In addition, the fluoride can be utilized as a fluorination catalyst for the production of fluorinated hydrocarbons. The pentafluoride is produced by the direct fluorination of tantalum metal or by reacting anhydrous hydrogen fluoride with the corresponding pentoxide or oxychloride in the presence of a suitable dehydrating agent (71). The ability of TaF to act as a fluoride ion acceptor in anhydrous HF has been used in the preparation of salts of the AsH, H S, and PH ions (72). The oxyfluorides TaOF [20263-47-2] and Ta02F [13597-27-8] do not find any industrial appHcation. [Pg.332]

Abrasive. Dentifrices have the unique ability to remove extrinsic tooth stains, which are caused by agents such as berries, tea, smoking, antibiotics, and certain bacteria as they attach to the dental pellicle. These stains can be removed only by abrasive cleaning a toothbmsh alone is not adequately effective. It has been shown that only 4% of a test population were able to maintain thein teeth in an acceptably stain-free state without an abrasive and that 18% of the population were "heavy" stainers (2). However, colored materials found in dental plaque are removable without abrasives. [Pg.501]

The antitumor activity displayed by the mitosanes and many synthetic aziridines stems from their ability to act as alkylating agents which chemically modify (crosslink) DNA. For this reason, a large number have been screened for antitumor activity, the mechanism of which has been the subject of considerable research effort <75CJC289l). An excellent account of the broad spectrum of biological properties of a multitude of compounds containing the aziridinyl moiety has been published [Pg.93]

The recent development and comparative application of modern separation techniques with regard to determination of alkylphosphonic acids and lewisite derivatives have been demonstrated. This report highlights advantages and shortcomings of GC equipped with mass spectrometry detector and HPLC as well as CE with UV-Vis detector. The comparison was made from the sampling point of view and separation/detection ability. The derivatization procedure for GC of main degradation products of nerve agents to determine in water samples was applied. Direct determination of lewisite derivatives by HPLC-UV was shown. Also optimization of indirect determination of alkylphosphonic acids in CE-UV was developed. Finally, the new instrumental development and future trends will be discussed. [Pg.278]

Specific biological activity of carboxylic acids peroxide derivatives in compaiison with their oxidation ability and ionization degree in aqueous solutions has been considered. Peroxyoctanoic, diperoxynonandioic and diperoxydecandioic acids give the most intense bactericidal effect among researched cai boxylic acids peroxide derivatives. The perspectives of use of the aliphatic middle-chain peracid C8-C9 as anti-infective agents have been discussed. [Pg.344]
