Plasticizers such as water, and/or glycerol enhanced the processabihty of soy protein isolate. Various additives such as zinc stearate and PCL, and heat treatments were used in order to improve the mechanical properties. Reagents such as sodium sulfite, sorbic acid, potassium salt and Cloisite 3 OB (nanoclay) also played a crucial role in processability. The desired pyridylamine was obtained in 69 % overall yield by monomethylation of 2-(aminomethyl)pyridine following a literature procedure (Scheme 4.14). Infrared and Microwave Inks. These ate inks which have been formulated to absorb these radiant energies. The energy causes the inks to heat and dry through the partial evaporation of solvent. Gas leaving the converter is normally cooled to 180—250°C using boiler feedwater in an "economizer."
