Various depolymerized butyls, butyl rubber solutions or cutbacks, butyl/plasticizer blends, and highly plasticized/partially cured butyls are also available. These products are used by many adhesive companies where equipment limitations prohibit the use of the tougher, regular bale forms of butyl rubber. Principal suppliers of these type materials include Rubber Research Elastomerics, Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota ADCO Products, Inc., Michigan Center, Michigan and A-Line Products, Detroit, Michigan. [Pg.188]

Conventional woolen cards usually have two or three tambours (double card, triple card), a working width of 3.5 m, a working length of about 16 m, and a line production rate of up to 1000 kg/h. Special machines have up to six tambours. [Pg.123]

The development of a line of lubricant additives is an expensive and slow undertaking the market for these products —on the order of 10 billion dollars in 1992— is very large and is dominated by a few companies. [Pg.354]

Crude oil and gas from offshore platforms are evacuated by pipeline or alternatively, in the case of oil, by tanker. Pipeline transport is the most common means of evacuating hydrocarbons, particularly where large volumes are concerned. Although a pipeline may seem a fairly basic piece of equipment, failure to design a line for the appropriate capacity, or to withstand operating conditions over the field life time, can prove very costly in terms of deferred oil production. [Pg.272]

Control charts were originally developed in the 1920s as a quality assurance tool for the control of manufactured products. Two types of control charts are commonly used in quality assurance a property control chart in which results for single measurements, or the means for several replicate measurements, are plotted sequentially and a precision control chart in which ranges or standard deviations are plotted sequentially. In either case, the control chart consists of a line representing the mean value for the measured property or the precision, and two or more boundary lines whose positions are determined by the precision of the measurement process. The position of the data points about the boundary lines determines whether the system is in statistical control. [Pg.714]

Magnesium fluoride is a by-product of the manufacture of metallic beryllium and uranium. The beryllium or uranium fluorides are intimately mixed with magnesium metal in magnesium fluoride-lined cmcibles. On heating, a Thermite-type reaction takes place to yield the desired metal and Mgp2 (13). Part of the magnesium fluoride produced in this reaction is then used as a lining for the cmcibles used in the process. [Pg.208]

Liquids. Approximately 170,000 railroad tank cars are used in the United States. The interior surfaces of these cars are tailored to carry a wide variety of products and are constmcted of steel which is either unlined or lined with materials to enhance the chemical compatibiUty with a specific product these lining materials include synthetic mbber, phenoHc or modified epoxy resins, or corrosion-resistant materials such as aluminum, nickel-bearing steel, or stainless steel. [Pg.511]

There are approximately 114 paint remover manufacturers in the United States. Among them are companies that speciali2e in the manufacture of paint removers only, paint and coating manufacturers that produce a line of paint removers, specialty products manufacturers, and other manufacturers of finish removers for unique or special appHcations. Each group of paint remover manufacturer can be divided into retail or industrial products. A Hst of U.S. paint remover manufacturers is given in Table 2. [Pg.553]

Pour typical weU patterns for contaminant plume containment are described in Ref. 16. The first is a pair of injection-production weUs. The second is a line of downgradient pumping weUs. The third is a pattern of injection-production weUs around the boundary of a plume. The fourth, the double-cell system, uses an inner ceU and outer recirculation ceU, with four ceUs along a line bisecting the plume in the direction of flow. Two other methods of plume containment are bio filters and a fuimel-and-gate system, which are described in the in bioremediation section. [Pg.169]

There are hundreds of primary battery manufacturers, most of which are limited to a specialty product or a limited national market. However, a number of multinational battery suppHers have manufacturing faciUties in many countries and a broad line of products. Table 4 Hsts the companies having sales of primary batteries of greater than 100 million per annum together with the regions of their headquarters and their product lines. [Pg.538]

If a plane area is revolved about a line which lies in its plane but does not intersect the area, then the volume generated is equal to the product of the area and the distance traveled by the area s center of gravity. [Pg.430]

Application A production-line product is rejected if one of its characteristics does not fall within specified limits. The standard goal is that no more than 2 percent of the production should he rejected. [Pg.500]

The small-spiral-large-sbaft type (Fig. ll-60b) is inserted in a solids-product line as pipe banks are in a fluid line, solely as a heat-transfer device. It features a thin burden ring carried at a high rotative speed and subjected to two-sided conductance to yield an estimated heat-transfer coefficient of 285 W/(m °C) [50 Btu/(h fU °F)], thereby ranking thermally next to the sheU-fluidizer type. This device for powdered solids is comparable with the Votator ol the fluid field. [Pg.1094]
