Word-processing package

PDF files can be read with the free Adobe Reader. You do not have to purchase a word processing package to open PDF files. 

A system we prefer for data records is to have a computerized standard blank data sheet. The grid shown in Fig. 3.2 can be used, but a more simple and flexible format is shown in Fig. 3.3. Either of these can easily be constructed in a word-processing package.

If you are new to university study, set aside some time for familiarizing yourself with how to use a word-processing package.

To cover the specialized area of chemical structures in detail, authors could provide only cursory coverage of mathematical expressions and tabular material. Many of the scientific word processing packages that I mentioned and some software the book discusses in detail (especially ChemText from Molecular Design Limited) will handle scientific and graphics material other than chemical structures. This book does not cover well-known graphics systems that handle chemical structures or chemical reactions these systems are already well-documented (6, 7). 

Information sharing will be facilitated with appropriate security to cover a wide range of functions. These include shared database access, multiple database integration, electronic filing systems, electronic mail, and fully editable document transfer between different word processing packages. 

All modem word processing packages incorporate comprehensive spell-checkers they should be used. Technical and facility-specific words can be added to the spell-checker. There is no longer any excuse for misspellings, nor for misspellings.

In this example, the individual obtaining the home computer system is interested primarily in word processing capability that is compatible with the word processing package at the office. The constraint or requirement for all software is that it is compatible with that used at the individual s workplace.
