CifiHijClNj. White plates m.p. 125 C. Diazepam is one of several benzodiazepines which are very widely used as minor tranquillizers for allaying anxiety, as hypnotics or, in sufficiently high dosage given intravenously, as pre-anaesthetic sedatives. 

Factors such as reaction temperature, excess of oxygen, water addition, addition of other minor reactants, eg, AlCl to promote the formation of mtile, mixing conditions inside the reactor, and many others influence the quaUty of Ti02 pigment. In general, titanium white pigments produced by the chloride process exhibit better lightness than those produced by the sulfate process. 

Hexachloroethane [67-72-17, perchloroethane, CCl CCl, is a white crystalline soHd with a camphorlike odor. Hexachloroethane is nonflammable and has a number of minor industrial uses which are limited because of its toxic nature. Crystalline hexachloroethane is a minor product in many industrial chlorination processes of saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons.

Caprolactam, a white solid that melts at 69°C, can be obtained either in a fused or flaked form. It is soluble in water, ligroin, and chlorinated hydrocarbons. Caprolactam s main use is to produce nylon 6. Other minor uses are as a crosslinking agent for polyurethanes, in the plasticizer industry, and in the synthesis of lysine. 

The key properties here are hardness and wear resistance, ability to. stand minor knocks and dents without cracking and resistance to various domestic chemicals. These vary with type of appliance, e.g. detergent solutions are important for washing machines, while a fridge will be required to withstand fruit juices, ketchup and polishes. Good colour and appearance in white and mainly pastel shades will be expected. Corrosion resistance is required, especially for washing machines, and domestic appliances frequently have to withstand humid conditions in kitchens. 

The most serious adverse reaction associated with these drugs is agranulocytosis (decrease in the number of white blood cells [eg, neutrophils, basophils, and eosinophils]). Reactions observed with agranulocytosis include hay fever, sore throat, skin rash, fever, or headache Other major reactions include exfoliative dermatitis, granulocytopenia, aplastic anemia, hypoprothrombinemia, and hepatitis. Minor reactions, such as nausea, vomiting, and paresthesias, also may be seen.

As one might suspect, the modal age range of the arrestees was the twenties. Almost one-half of the men (47 percent) were age 25 or less, and only 19 percent were 36 or older. The majority of the men (54 percent) were black, with a sizable minority (33 percent) being of Hispanic descent. Ten percent of the sample members were white. Education was limited in the men. More than one half (56 percent) never completed high school or its equivalent (GED). 

In the United States, tuberculosis disproportionately affects ethnic minorities as compared with whites, reflecting greater ongoing transmission in ethnic minority communities. Additional tuberculosis surveillance and preventive treatment are required within these communities.
