Well Construction Standards purpose

A modular scanner system for NDE has been developed. It consists of a selection of individual electronics and motor module components, supported by scanner configuration and control software. The modules are used as standard building blocks for construction of job specific, dedicated scanners as well and general purpose scanners. The use of modular scanner components significantly reduce the work, time and cost not only for the design and manufacture but also for establishing documentation and ensure compliance with the relevant EU-directive requirements. 

The main objective of our exploratory study was to map experiences from applying ISO 11064 and CRIOP to CC design in fiiU scale industrial projects, e.g. construction of new offshore installations (oH platforms, FPSOs) and onshore process installations as well as major CC modifications of the same. The purpose of this was to identify strengths and weaknesses in ISO 11064 and CRIOP as the standard is being apphed today. 

The stresses obtained from the analyses—one example of this is demonstrated in Table 7.30—must be superimposed by the operational stresses of the component in question. Depending on the function and safety-related importance of the installation, other stress factors, like those resulting from accidents etc., can be superimposed as well. Stress assumptions are used to document the static stability and functionality of the technical installation. In general, this is achieved by the computation of stresses occurring in the supporting cross sections. For this purpose, simple methods are stated in the regulations and standards set up to the fields of construction and mechanical engineering. 

Custom -designed conveyors take two forms. Standard components and their variants can be assembled in many ways to satisfy specific lengths and inlet and outlet requirements, to tailor a conventional conveyor to suit a specific insfallafion. The other extreme is an individually designed machine that incorporates special features or techniques to be purpose-built for a particular function or duty. The cost of the latter type may be significantly more than a unit constructed from standard components but, as with many items involved in the handling of bulk solids, reliable and efficient performance is paramount. Notional savings on capital cost can involve losses that far exceed any purchase cost difference if the equipment does not work well.
