Diabetic patients Weight-loss induction by orlistat may be accompanied by improved metabolic control in diabetic patients, which might require a reduction in dose of oral hypoglycemic medication (eg, sulfonylureas, metformin) or insulin. Misuse potential As with any weight-loss agent, the potential exists for misuse of orlistat in inappropriate patient populations (eg, patients with anorexia nervosa or bulimia). 

The high permeability of PCL and its copolymers coupled with a controllable induction period prior to polymer weight loss (vide infra) lends itself to the development of delivery devices that are based on diffusion-controlled delivery of the drug during the induction period prior to weight loss. The subsequent biodegradation of the polymer serves the purpose of eliminating the need to recover the spent device. 

Two methods were used to determine the purity of the final material. The ash content was obtained by calculation of a weight loss of 1 g size graphite sample, after its exposure to 900°C for 4 hours (Superior Graphite AIMS procedure FBQ0001). This test gives a good idea of the total amount of impurities. The planar mono- and di-orf/zo-derivatives (PCBs 105, 118, 156, 189, 128, 138, 153, 170, 180) are referred to as mixed inducers because they elicit effects similar to coadministration of phenobarbital plus methylcholanthrene (Hansen 1987).
