Visualization distortion

MeO-DMT Effects of 5-MeO-DMT are psychedelic without the visual distortions found in NN-DMT. 5-MeO-DMT is taken at 1/4 the dose of NN-DMT and will overpower the NN-DMT. [Pg.5]

Because Ecstasy can produce mild hallucinations, it is often referred to as a psychedelic drug having effects similar to those of LSD. Unlike other psychedelic drugs, however, Ecstasy does not produce vivid perceptual and visual distortions, like walls and ceilings turning into liquid. Rather, the perception of colors, sound, music, and touch appears to be intensified by Ecstasy. In addition, the perception of time may be slowed or otherwise altered. [Pg.35]

EXTENSIONS AND COMMENTARY What a remarkable compound. It is a little more potent than LSD, but much less aggressive in the nature of its action. There appears to be little if any of the push, the taking control nature, of LSD and a greatly modified degree of visual distortion. The warmth and humor appears to be there, but all seems more allowing rather than demanding. [Pg.89]

QUALITATIVE COMMENTS (with 8 mg, orally) "There was a very mild visual distortion, and a prominent vertigo without nausea. In the second hour there is still some enhancement of visual detail, but I am not endowed with the flight of ideas of philosophical concepts as with psilocin. I am rapidly subsiding and I am able to eat normally. Residual insomnia lasted eight hours."... [Pg.138]

Visual distortions are also reported, but they tend to be... [Pg.478]

Typical Effects of Smoked Salvia Salvia divinorum, like all entheogens, has different effects on different users. Still, some common themes present themselves. One ofthe most striking features of a breakthrough Salvia experience is the distortion of linear time. Sometimes, it seems as if one simply escapes linear time altogether and finds that all temporal coordinates are randomly accessible instantaneously. Visual distortions are also reported, but they tend to be vague, slippery, and ambiguous. [Pg.595]

The more prolonged, severe, and distinctly psychotic experience that ensued when he voluntarily ingested 25 micrograms of LSD only three days later bore out Hofmann s hypothesis. As before, the drug initially caused anxiety, dizziness, and visual distortions, but now symptoms of paralysis and a desire to laugh were added to the mix, indicating effects on the postural and emotional control systems of the brain stem and limbic systems, respectively. [Pg.254]

Serotonin s effects include classical neuronal inhibition, as well as modulation. The study of dreaming teaches us that disinhibition is likely the cause of positive signs of hallucination, emotional intensification, and confabulation, whereas demodulation more likely causes the negative signs such as memory loss, disorientation, and bizarreness. Serotonin blockade induced disinhibition is one of the mechanisms by which the very same set of aspects of model psychoses is generated the visual distortion and hallucination could result from visual system disinhibition the emotional intensification could result from limbic system disinhibition and confabulation could result from associative cortex disinhibition. [Pg.269]

QUALITATIVE COMMENTS (with 150 mg) Between two and five hours, very peaceful and euphoric mood elevation, similar to mescaline, but without any visual distortion. Mild enhancement of color perception, possibly a function of mood elevation. There was no nausea, no eyes-closed vision. Slept easily that evening. ... [Pg.126]

The medium-dose threshold is anywhere between 30 and 70 mg (a single inhaled hit for many) and results in pronounced disorientation, audio and visual distortion, and a loss of muscle coordination. [Pg.270]

Highly toxic. Can cause headaches, visual distortions, fall in blood pressure, vomiting, collapse, and coma. Heat will cause even more toxic fumes. [Pg.24]

It is active in humans at 10-25 mg so it represents a 12-fold increase in potency over mescaline. Of all the compounds mentioned in this review, it comes most closely to being what should properly be called a psychotomimetic It produces a very intense and disorganized psychotic state that has some aspects of visual distortion but primarily disrupts the mental integrity. [Pg.227]

In a first study designed to describe its effects in normal individuals, not one of eight subjects reported hallucinations, visual distortions, color enhancement, or mental imagery, while all of them evidenced other pronounced reactions enhancement of feelings, increased communication, and heightened reflectiveness, which led to a concern with their own problems or those of society or mankind. Further experiments with MDA in neurotic patients in the context of psychotherapy have confirmed such effects, but here physical symptoms were of frequent occurrence, and visual phenomena were described by most individuals at some point of their experience. Yet the most characteristic feature of the experience of these subjects was one which we will here call age regression. ... [Pg.398]

Visual distortion with generalized anxiety and panic attacks has been attributed to risperidone (SEDA-22, 69). Visual disturbance resembling hallucinogen persistent perception disorder occurred after each of three consecutive risperidone dosage increases in a 55-year-old woman there was absence of substance abuse (129). [Pg.343]

An asymptomatic patient with a mild PCO found on slit-lamp examination does not need to be treated. When the patient becomes symptomatic with decreased vision, glare, or visual distortion such that their daily activities are affected, neodymium (Nd) YAG laser capsulotomy should be considered. Nd YAG laser photodisrupts the involved tissues (Figure 30-12) and represents a low risk for a retinal break after the procedure. Therefore, before the Nd YAG treatment, the patient should have a careful dilated examination of the peripheral retina to rule out breaks or degeneration that could lead to retinal detachment after capsulotomy. [Pg.612]

Some patients with lens decentration or with pupillary capture have no symptoms. However, other patients with lOL decentration or pupillary capture note visual distortion, reflections, and decreased visual acuity. It is common to find increased myopia or induced astigmatism. The pupil may appear distorted, and the lOL optic edge and/or haptic may be visible when the pupil is undilated. When the eye moves, phacodonesis may be observed. Except when contraindicated because of lens type or... [Pg.612]
