Various sources publish data of permissible vibration levels for employees (usually as a graph of acceleration against frequency). These are designed to avoid injury and cannot be used as a guide to the degree of disturbance caused by vibration. For one thing, steam produced from hot-lime-softened water will have some amount of silicates.
