Veronica persica

Pyraflufen-ethyl was primarily developed as a cereal herbicide to control a broad spectrum of broadleaf weeds. Pyraflufen-ethyl applied in early postemergence at 12 g a.i. ha provides excellent control of some important weeds such as Anthemis arvensis, Lamium purpureum and Sinapis arvensis and good suppression of Matricaria chamomilla, Stel-iaria media, Veronica persica and Viola spp. 

Sulfamoyl-2-chloroadenosine (121) from a strain of Streptomyces alhus possesses potent herbicidal activity on broad leaf weeds in post-emergent application (80 percent control on Sinapis alba, Stellaria media, Veronica persica, and Xanthium spinosum at <24 g/acre). Unfortunately, this compound also exhibits strong mammalian toxicity (LCso in mouse fibroblasts 0.013 pg/ml). Nucleocidin glucoside (122), a fluoronucleoside from a Streptomyces strain, is a weak herbicide [97]. 

DPX-T 6376 has a different spectrum of activity from chlorsulfuron. It is more active on Viola, Polygonum spp., and Veronica persica while less active on GcUium aparine. It controls certain grass weeds as Apera spica venti and Lolium spp.

At rates of 25-50 g-a.i. ha cyclosulfamuron can also be used in cereal crops for pre- and postemergent control of several important broadleaf weeds, such as Veronica persica, V. hederifolia Galium aparine, Matricaria spp. and Polygonum convolvulus [38].
