Vent locations

Bulk alum can be stored in mild steel or concrete bins with dust collector vents located in, above, or adjacent to the equipment room. Recommended storage capacity is about 30 days. Dry alum in bulk form can be transferred or metered by means of screw conveyors, pneumatic conveyors, or bucket elevators made of mild steel. Pneumatic conveyor elbows should have a reinforced backing as the alum can contain abrasive impurities. [Pg.93]

Mnltiple vent locations can be provided along the length of a pipe or dnct to rednce the maximnm pressnre generated dnring a deflagration. [Pg.28]

VII-3.2.3 Utilization. The use of this survey method may be limited by adverse conditions (such as excessive wind, excessive soil moisture, or surface sealing by ice or water). The survey shall be conducted at speeds slow enough to allow an adequate sample to be continuously obtained by placement of equipment intakes over the most logical venting locations, giving consideration to the location of hydrogen gas facilities and any adverse conditions that might exist. [Pg.186]

A mainframe computer system has data on each SRV. Every other month, a computergenerated inspection schedule is sent to the second-level supervisor of each process unit. The report serves as a reminder of all SRV and conservation vent locations, recommended... [Pg.237]

This device, generally known as a continuous-pressure type, is basically a double check valve with an atmospheric vent located between the checks (Fig. 6). In a backpressure condition (downstream pressure exceeds supply pressure) or a backsiphonage condition (supply pressure drops to atmospheric or lower), both checks close and... [Pg.28]

Figure 15.14a,6 shows preferred vent locations on the common types of in-shell horizontal condensers. Gilmour (134) described a case history of inert blanketing in the condenser shown in Fig. 15.15a before the vents were added a similar problem has been reported by others (381). Figure 15.156 shows a good vent location on a two-pass, in-tube condenser. [Pg.474]

The design of the gating and runner configuration (if any) is usually kept proprietary hy the molder. However, it appears that most SRIM parts are center-gated, with vents located along the periphery of the part. This configuration allows the displaced air in the mold cavity to he expelled uniformly. [Pg.220]

For the paint solvent application, a slipstream of a paint booth vent located at Fort Carson was analyzed to determine the components present with rapid scan gas chromatograph. On any operational day, several paint types are sprayed. The solvent emissions content thus varies during painting operations. In general, the amounts and types of solvent emissions from the Fort Carson paint booth are listed in Table 22.4.2. [Pg.1562]

Air from Zone 2A is drawn from a vent located north of the SCB s through charcoal and HEPA filters. In addition, a remotely maintainable HEPA filter is provided at the inlet to reduce buildup of contaminants in the ducting. Air is drawn from Zone 2 at the north end of Room 112 and is exhausted through one HEPA filter at the HCF stack. [Pg.105]

Storage should always be at atmospheric pressure, in tanks equipped with relief valves in addition to continuous vents. Location is important it should be chosen to minimize the probability of contact with oxidizable or alkaline materials. Peroxide should not share dikes or impoundment areas with incompatible materials. [Pg.683]

Concerning the technique of sprue design, it should be noted that the venting and positioning of the tool are of the utmost importance. The basic principle should be to fill the tool from the lower side and turn it into such a position that the reactive mixture travels the shortest possible distance from the position of entry to the farthest point of the mould cavity. In this manner, turbulence and air traps are minimized. The vent slots must be cut at the highest point of the tool. Often the best tool position and vent location must be determined empirically and optimized prior to production. [Pg.191]
