Vapor condensation trap

Thermal volatilization analysis (pyrolysis analysis, TVA) n. Ramp heating of a plastic with passage of the evolved volatiles through one or more chemical detectors, sometimes with intervening, controlled-temperature, vapor-condensing traps. TVA is a powerful technique when coupled with thermogravimetric analysis. [Pg.971]

Precipitation, clouds, and fog all result from condensation. They form as air cools when it rises or passes over cooler land or water. A problem with limiting the conductance is that the ability to remove contaminants is also reduced. Since water vapor is the prime contaminant in many systems, this problem can be alleviated by having a large-area cryocondensation trap (cryopanel) in the chamber to condense the water vapor. Air purification. In the air purification section, any residual oils carried by the cold compressed air are condensed and removed in the condensation traps. A coalescing filter may be used to remove residual oil and water aerosol droplets.
