The principal adverse reaction associated with warfarin is bleeding, which may range from very mild to severe. Bleeding may be seen in many areas of the body, such as the bladder, bowel, stomach, uterus, and mucous membranes. Other adverse reactions are rare but may include nausea, vomiting, alopecia (loss of hair), urticaria (severe skin rash), abdominal cramping, diarrhea, rash, hepatitis (inflammation of the liver), jaundice (yellowish discoloration of the skin and mucous membranes), and blood dyscrasias (disorders). 

Anovulatory bleeding, also referred to as dysfunctional uterine bleeding, is secondary to the effects of unopposed estrogen and does not include bleeding owing to an anatomic lesion of the uterus. 

This drug can be used as a carboxylic acid ester, in particular, as an acetate. It causes the mucous membranes of the uterus to move into the secretory phase, which facilitates development of impregnated oocytes. It reduces the excitability and contractility of uterine musculature. It is used for amenorrhea, uterine bleeding, infertility, miscarriage, myoma, mastopathy, endometrial cancer, and other pathologies. Synonyms of this drug are conce-plan, norfor, brevinor, and many others.

Like Ai Ye, it can warm the interior, stop bleeding and alleviate pain, but its function focuses on the Middle-Jiao. It is especially effective for treating bleeding due to Spleen-Yang and Qi deficiency failing to control the blood. Such bleeding may be located in the stomach, intestines and uterus. 

Zao Xi Tu is warm and astringent, and enters the Spleen and Stomach meridians. It warms the interior and stops bleeding in both the Middle- and Lower-Jiao, such as bleeding from the stomach, intestines and uterus. Moreover, it binds up the intestines and stops diarrhea. It is more suitable for conditions of Spleen-Yang deficiency, such as chronic colitis, which manifests as abdominal pain and cramp, diarrhea, intestinal hemorrhage, cold hands and feet, and a pale complexion. 

Nylestriol is an estriol derivative (cyclopentylethinyles-triol), which has been tested in animals in combination with levonorgestrel as a potential agent for the treatment of post-menopausal osteoporosis. In a preliminary placebo-controlled study over 1 year using nylestriol 0.5 mg + levonorgestrel 0.15 mg once weekly in 119 patients, the combination produced no adverse effects on the uterus or breasts and there was no uterine bleeding...
