Nazira Karodia obtained her B.Sc. (Honours) degree at the University of Natal, South Africa. She went on to obtain a Ph.D. in organic chemistry at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, under the supervision of Dr. R. Alan Aitken. Following a successful thesis defense in 1995, she took up a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Florida, US, under the supervision of Professor Alan R. Katritzky. She was appointed to a lectureship at the University of Bradford in 1998 and is now senior lecturer in chemistry. [Pg.606]

Urszula Domahska has been professor. Faculty of Chemistry, Warsaw University of Technology since February 1995. She is a member of the Polish Chemical Society member of the Polish Association of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis member of lUPAC Commission on Solubility member of International Association of Chemical Thermodynamics and scientific advisor at the Journal of Chemical Engineering Data. [Pg.403]

KENNETH WESTLAKE is a member of the Institute of Waste Management, where his work on landfill control and techniques is respected world-wide. A graduate with a B.Sc.(Hons) in Applied Biology followed by M.Phil., both from Nottingham Trent University (formerly Trent Polytechnic). He read for his doctorate as Lecturer in Biochemistry in south Africa at the University of Natal and subsequently he became, in 1983, Agricultural Research Officer to the South African Animal and Dairy Science Research Institute. [Pg.146]
