Heat and oil resistance coupled with its low swell have led automotive apphcations into laminated tubing and hoses (11) with this material. This resistance to the effects of ASTM No. 3 oil at service temperatures of 200°C makes it competitive with fluorocarbons and with the tetrafluoroethylene—propylene copolymer. Fluorosihcones are used to make exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) diaphragms for some passenger cars.

Polyvinylchloride (PVC) is a hard, amorphous polymer which softens at about 85 °C. Also in PVC rubbers are sometimes added in order to improve the impact strength. The main applications of PVC are pipes, gutters, front panels of buildings, cables, bottles, floor tiles. A much softer and more flexible material is obtained by blending with plasticizers soft or plasticized PVC is being used in artificial leather, tubes and hoses, footwear, films, etc.

COMMERCIAL USE S5mdiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene is used in films, footwear soles, tubes, and hoses atactic 1,2-polybutadiene is extensively used in the rubber and tire industry. 

Applications are also found in other industries as diaphragms, flexible tubing, closures, seals, gaskets, convoluted tubing, and hose, particularly in the chemical, cryogenic, and aerospace industries. 

Polyurethanes find application in many areas. They can be used as impact modifiers for other plastics. Other applications include rollers or wheels, exterior body parts, drive belts, and hydraulic seals. Polyurethanes can be used in film applications such as textile laminates for clothing and protective coatings for hospital beds. They are also used in tubing and hose in both unreinforced and reinforced forms because of their low-temperature properties and toughness. Their abrasion resistance allows them to be used in applications such as athletic shoe soles and ski boots. Polyurethanes are also used as coatings for wire and cable. ... 

A wide variety of shapes can be made by extrusion including rods, channels, and other stmctural shapes tubing and hose sheeting up to several feet wide and 1/4 in. or more thick and film of similar width down to a few thousands of an inch in thickness.

Despite the importance of the cis-1,4 PB, 1,2 PB is also an industrially produced polymer which is commonly used in the production of tires, films (packaging breathing items for fruits, vegetables, and seafood), footwear soles, tubes, and hoses. 

Containers, regulating equipment, manifolds, pipe, tubing, and hose shall be located to minimize exposure to high temperatures or physical damage. 

Vacuum infrastructure The evacuation of the vacuum bag is realized by vacuum pumps connected via tubes and hoses to intake valves in the vacuum set-up. The intakes can be positioned either in the vacuum bag, in which case the vacuum foil has to be perforated in order to provide a passage, or as part of circuitry integrated into the mould. For further distributing the airflow efficiently, it is usually necessary to install additional channels underneath the vacuum bag, e.g. by stacking up several narrow layers of breather fabric.
