Kakiuehi et al. [84] studied the adsorption properties of two types of nonionic surfactants, sorbitan fatty acid esters and sucrose alkanoate, at the water-nitrobenzene interface. These surfactants lower the interfacial capacity in the range of the applied potential with no sign of desorption. On the other hand, the remarkable adsorption-desorption capacity peak analogous to the adsorption peak seen for organic molecules at the mercury-electrolyte interface can be observed in the presence of ionic surfactants, such as triazine dye ligands for proteins [85]. [Pg.439]

In one study [90], enzyme pretreatment increased colour yield without affecting fastness properties. However, pretreatment of cellulosic fibres with cellulase lowered the subsequent fixation of homobifunctional triazine reactive dyes but did not impair the fixation of other types of reactive dyes [91]. Another study suggested that the enhanced brightness of reactive dyeings was greater with triazine dyes than with vinylsulphone types when cotton was pretreated or aftertreated with cellulase [92]. [Pg.83]

Because of the relatively low sensitivity of TLC methods they have not been frequently applied for the analysis of samples containing trace amounts of synthetic dyes. However, TLC techniques have been proven to be a rapid, reliable and valuable tool for the easy following of synthetic procedures for the preparation of new dyes. Thus, the synthesis of some bifunctional reactive triazine dyes has been monitored by TLC. The synthetic pathways a and b are shown in Fig. 3.12. The purity of intermediates was controlled by TLC using a silica stationary phase (Rp value of 2-allylamino-4,6-chloro-l,3,5-triazine = 0.48... [Pg.386]

The procedure given in this protocol for coupling of reactive dyes (triazine dyes), such as, for example, Cihacron Blue F3G-A (C.I. 61211) or Reactive Red 4 (C.I. 18105), is applicable to most polysaccharide beds. [Pg.121]

Macromolecular ligands (e.g., proteins) [224], polysaccharides [225], small ligands (e.g., triazine dyes) [226], metal chelates [227], and inhibitors [228] can provide unparalleled selectivity in forming Hgand-Hgate affinity complexes. [Pg.162]

The uses of 1,3,5-triazine and its derivatives will be discussed according to the nature of the substituents. The fibre reactive triazine dyes are discussed in Section 2.20.6.7. It is more convenient to describe the properties of all the triazine herbicides in a separate section. [Pg.524]

Cyanuric chloride [2,4,6-trichloro-l,3,5-triazine (59)] is the basis of three major industrial applications triazine herbicides, triazine dyes, and optical whitening agents. It is not, however, made commercially by chlori-... [Pg.323]
