Transferring Files

Gives the possibility of transferring files from SOFINE to ACCESS and EXCEL. 

In a videoconference, two or more people in different locations can see and hear each other at the same time, sometimes even sharing computer applications for collaboration. A video call is similar to a telephone call. After connecting, participants are able to view each other in color video and may be able to transfer files or collaborate via options such as document sharing or whiteboarding [13]. 

The PCs of the system administrator and a few special users have direct access to the DRX-spectrometer.s via the central Server using the FTP protocol. This special group have direct access to any files in the spectrometer s data system, i.e. data files, variou.s lists, pulse programs,... and may transfer files to and from the spectrometers. In addition, they also have the option to create or delete directories, to modify pulse programs and to do other jobs on the spectrometer s data system. As is usual in security sensitive situations, this special group require a password to acces.s the spectrometer. 

Telnet. Telnet is a program using the communication protocol of the Internet (TCP/IP) to provide a connection onto remote computers. You can use Telnet to contact a host machine simply by typing in the host name or IP number if you have Internet access from your computer. You will then be asked for a login identity and your password. Often buried within Telnet is a version of FTP, so you can transfer files from the TCP/IP host to your own computer. 

There will be times when the network is unavailable and data will be buffered in the A/D unit or data server. It is important to ensure that this function works during the PQ. The worst-case example for the buffering will be defined in the URS and will be the number of injections with the longest run time. The run should be started, then the network is disconnected and the data accumulated in the A/D unit or acquisition unit until the end of the run when the network reconnected and the buffered data are transferred to the server. There should be no loss of data integrity in any of the buffered and transferred files if this test is to pass. 

When creating an automated sample preparation to mimic or reproduce a manual sample preparation procedure, it is wise to break down each step of file procedure and understand its relevance. FTP is a method of transferring files across the Internet. In may cases the files are made available for anonymous FTP access, i.e. you do not need previously arranged passwords. Log in as anonymous and give your e-mail address as the password. Use your web browser to locate the file you want and then use its FTP software to transfer it to your computer. 

Many companies have developed the practice of composing what is termed the transfer file as a means of ensuring that all key documents and relevant information are imparted to operations or the receiving laboratory. This file is merely a collection of important reports. For analytical methods, such documents include the method development and validation reports, impurity profiling report, stability reports and tables, and specification archive. The power of such an approach is that it ensures that all information is conveyed to the receiving laboratory.
