Data buffering

The autosampler required a RS232 communication at 9600 baud using ASCII character strings in a question-and-answer manner. The density device (Anton Paar) communicated at 2400 baud and a complete data buffer of information was transmitted. The computer program was designed to select and validate data for each measurement. Finally, the refractive index instrument had to be strobed to provide data using an RS232 interface at 1200 baud. [Pg.202]

Agents support data buffering and hold data communication with the target application server in case of system failure and restore it as soon the system is operational again. [Pg.327]

The software for running the computer, sampling the raw data, buffering and organizing them in the core or on the disc will not be discussed here. [Pg.151]

Design description The transmitter is designed to operate at 2.5 Gb/sec with a NRZ data input format. The elements include housing, electrical interface, optical interface, drive circuitry, temperature control, optical sensors, data buffers, modulator, and attenuator. [Pg.1999]

The design has the following state-full components it has three data-buffers — 2 in the PC node (PC1, PC2), and MemAddr. Nodes Fork and EXEJnput store copies of the current colour and the Lock token is used to control branch address generation. [Pg.141]

Data that are input to the drive over the SCSI for recording are first broken up into fixed block sizes (of, for example, 512 kilobyte or 1024 kilobytes length) and then stored in the data buffer RAM. Magneto-optic, phase-change, and WORM drives can be classified as fixed block architecture technologies in which data blocks are recorded much like in hard drives (Marchant, 1990). Blocks of data can be placed anywhere on the disk in any sequence. The current CD recordable drive is, on the other hand, an example of a non-fixed block architecture (because its roots are in CD audio). In common CD-R drives, input data are recorded sequentially (like a tape player) and can be of any continuous length. [Pg.1597]

MACA-BI—Multiple access with collision avoidance by invitation (Talucci, 1997). In MACA-BI, the receiver polls a prospective sender by transmitting a ready-to-receive (RTR) packet. (This is an example of a receiver-initiated protocol.) In order to perform the polling in a timely fashion the receiver is required to correctly predict the traffic originated by the sender. Periodic traffic makes this task easier. In case either the data buffer or the delay at the terminal increases above a certain threshold this terminal may trigger a... [Pg.2107]

This chip provides a hardware implementation for an industry standard communications protocol for automotive data links. The synthesized version of the design required five processes, and in addition two FIFOs which serve as data buffers were added to the top level netlist manually. The FIFOs were considered a shared resource used by several of the processes, and were therefore not synthesized within any one process. Little simulation was attempted in this design. Only two of the processes were simulated individually, and no simulation involving interprocess communication was attempted on this design. [Pg.322]
