Template-assisted synthesi

The variety of porous solid materials that can be used as templates for nanostructure synthesis has been reviewed by Ozin (1992). In the template-assisted synthesis of nanowires, the pores or voids of the template are filled with the chosen material using a number of approaches. Nanowires have been derived via pressure injection, electrochemical deposition, and vapor deposition, as described in the following sections. [Pg.173]

The two aldehydes Mi,i and Mi,2 produced the same relative amount of imines in the presence or absence of CAll, which implied that no interaction between these dynamic library members and the enzyme was observed. The relative abundance of imines fromMi,3 varied in the two libraries and the two amines 8.112 and 8.113 almost disappeared from L29 when compared to L30, while the formation of 8.114 and especially 8.115 was favored by the template (Fig. 8.55). These results were confirmed in four validation experiments in which the two amines were reacted with Mi,3 in the presence or in the absence of the enzyme. The results reported in Table 8.6 show how 8.115 was the favored library component in the template-assisted synthesis of the mixture. Further confirmation of the specificity of 8.115 toward the template was provided by adding the known CAII inhibitor 8.116 (Fig. 8.55) to a binary mixture... [Pg.407]

A template assisted synthesis of MWNTs in an anoidic almninum oxide (AAO) on metal surfaces has been shown to produce aligned MWNTs. Well-aligned MWNTs have been grown perpendicular to the substrate from a quartz plate and it has been noticed that the length of the tube increases... [Pg.5967]

There exist a variety of methods to synthesize quasi-one-dimensional nanostructured materials, which include but not limited to vapor phase growth, template-assisted synthesis, sol-gel deposition, surfactant-assisted growth, sonochemical method, hydrothermal method, and electrochemical deposition [21], Among the various methods, the electrochemical anodization method is one of the simplest and cheapest methods to synthesize ordered quasi-one-dimensional nanostructure. [Pg.262]

DNA. The fundamental requirement of a self-replicating molecule is that it can be synthesized from two or more components for which the molecule itself is the template. It is also vital that the dimer that forms upon completion of any bond formation during the template-assisted synthesis dissociates readily so that more components can bind to the original template and its newly created twin. Lastly, there must be an available pool of components. [Pg.181]

Light-emitting ID nanomaterials made by conjugated potymers have unique features because they combine optoelectronic properties of semiconductors with structural properties of potymers. Organic nanowires, nanofibers, and nanotubes can be produced by different techniques, including template-assisted synthesis and vacuum sublimation. However, the lowthroughput of many of these approaches limits their application in photonic integrated systems. [Pg.244]
