Technical Advisory Groups

D. The IEEE 802 workgroup has designated 802.8 as the Eiber Optic Technical Advisory Group. See Chapter 8 for more information. 

The author is also a member of the USA Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for ISO Technical Committee (TC) 61 on Plastics, which group is also a subcommittee (D 20.61) of ASTM D 20. In TC 61 his primary responsibility has been the subcommittee on Terminology (SC 1). 

Quality Management and Corresponding General Aspects for Medical Devices. The NCCLS also administers the U.S. Technical Advisory Group for ISO/TC 76 on Transfusion, Infusion, and Injection Equipment for Medical Use. ISO/TC 76 is particularly concerned with development of standards for glass containers for blood transfusions, plastic containers for blood collection and transfusion, and blood specimen containers for hematology and biochemistry.

The lEC, founded in 1906, oversees, on an international level, aU matters relating to standards for electrical and electronic items. Membership in the lEC is held by a National Committee for each nation. The United States National Committee (USNC) for lEC was founded in 1907, and since 1931 has been affiliated with ANSI. USNC has its members representatives from professional societies, trade associations, testing laboratories, government entities, other organizations, and individual experts. The USNC appoints a technical advisor and a technical advisory group for each lEC Committee and Subcommittee to help develop a unified United States position. These advisory groups are drawn from groups that are involved in the development of related U.S. national standards. 

ISA is an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited organization. ISA administers United States Technical Advisory Groups (USTAGs) and provides secretariat support for International Electrotechnical Commission (lEC) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) committees that develop process measurement and control standards. Four industry proposals came in under round one. A selection board composed of five members from the Division of Reactor Development and assisted by a technical advisory group of engineers and physicists reviewed and evaluated them.
