System definition stage

The enterprise shall execute the system definition stage to establish the definition of the Systran with a focus on system products required to satisfy operational requiremraits. The major events of this stage should include completion of system, product, and subsystem interface specifications, Systran and product specifications, and preliminary subsystem specifications establishmrait of a system baseline and completion of technical reviews appropriate to the Systran definition stage. The documentation produced during system definition is required to guide subsystem developments. The technical reviews should evaluate the maturity of the system development and the readiness to progress to subsystran definition. [Pg.18]

The enterprise shall apply the SEP, described in Clause 6, for the purpose of genraating system-level vahdated requirements baseUne, verified functional and design architectures, specifications and system baseline, SBS, and updated engineraing and technical plans. Specific activities to be accomphshed are listed in Table 2. [Pg.18]

For precedented system developments, with incrementally improved or evolutionary growth products, the enterprise should refine established system definitions and product-fine strategies to satisfy the market opportunity or customer order. For unprecedented systems where the concept is not aheady defined, the [Pg.18]

For precedented systems, the engineering plan, master schedule, and detail schedule are prepared for the full development life cycle, with the most detail for the current stage. For unprecedented systems, the engineering [Pg.19]

The raitCTprise shall prepare and control the following specifications needed to guide the systems engineering efforts of the system definition stage. [Pg.20]

A system definition review shonld be completed by the enterprise at the completion of the system definition stage for the purpose of determiiung whether the system definihon is sufficiently mature to progress to subsystem definition. The system defirution is reviewed to ensure that... [Pg.22]

The enterprise shall update necessary engineering and technical plans in response to changes based on SEP activities conducted during system definition, and to reflect planning for the next stage of development. [Pg.20]

At this point it must be determined what functions each component in the system wfll be requhed to fulfill and how each wiU function together with other components in the system. The management and operation staff usually know what they would like the system to do and how they can best accompHsh it. They have probably selected equipment that they think will do the job. With a familiarity of the capabilities of different equipment, the systems engineer should be able to contribute to this function-definition stage of the process. Questions that need to be answered include... [Pg.2353]

The goal definition stage defines the purpose, scope, and boundaries of the study, the functional unit, key assnmptions to be made and likely limitation of the work [10]. The goal and scope definition of an LCA provides a description of the product system in terms of the system boundaries and a functional unit [3]. The functional unit is the important basis that enables alternative goods, or services, to be compared and analysed. Practitioners may compare, for example, alternative types of packaging on the basis of 1 m of packed and delivered product - the service that the product provides. [Pg.184]

Based on these requirements, the system definition is developed to capture the baseline system configuration, before aity changes brought about by the project, arKl subsequently before each of tte project stages. [Pg.162]

Unexpected were the results of Concept and System Design stage. One reason may be a different understanding of development stage definition,... [Pg.1716]

Since the studies under discussion have cost estimates factored from major material, secondary systems at this stage have relatively smaller impact than later when more definitive cost estimates are done. At this stage, it is well to gain a feel for the completeness of the licensor s design with respect to secondary systems. [Pg.216]

As has been indicated, since there is a ring isotope effect there must be a degree of C-H bond breaking in the transition state of the rate-determining stage. Clearly further work is required in this system before a definitive mechanism can be established for the intramolecular rearrangement. [Pg.461]

The solution of system (6.56) is a very complicated mathematical problem it definitely needs numerical calculations on some stages of processing. At least two successful attempts to overcome these difficulties are well known in the literature. The first method was put forward by Sack and expresses the solution through a continuous fraction. The second was proposed by Fixman and Rider [29], and deals with a kinetic... [Pg.212]
