It may be possible to use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to map biomonitoring results to determine whether there is a spatial pattern in exposure concentrations. This could be overlaid with GIS maps of environmental data (for example, air or water pollution or distribution of waste sites) to determine whether biomonitoring results correspond to specific environmental sources. However, mapping techniques are generally not useful for sporadic, localized sources such as food or consumer products. In such cases, survey questionnaires and sampling of the home environment are of more direct use in understanding exposure sources. 

Chapter 11 examines how HES (health, environment and safety) managers and the workers OSH representatives view the following topics (1) safe use of chemicals, (2) prevention prioritizations and measures of management, (3) collective cUmates of OSH in systems thinking and (4) discourses on legislation about chemical safety. Eorty-nine HES managers and 105 workers OSH representatives responded to an online survey questionnaire.

In a questionnaire survey, 43% of 3222 respondents associated unpleasant symptoms with specific foods and eating environments however, only 1-2% reported sjmptoms characteristic of the Chinese restaurant sjmdrome, and only 0.19% associated the characteristic sjmptoms with consumption of Chinese food (5). Most respondents who were aware of the syndrome and most of those who believed they had experienced it reported non-specific symptoms. 

As far as costs are concerned, one section of an environmental reporting survey by EAG Environ, a UK consultant, is devoted to this. Using a comprehensive questionnaire, over 100 reporting companies were contacted and asked for their views on the three issues of drivers, benefits and costs of environmental reporting. The questionnaire was designed to capture cost information from companies with different approaches to environmental reporting. These ranged from companies that carried out in-house CER production to companies that relied totally on external assistance. 

In order to investigate occupational physicians (OPs) everyday tasks and duties, tiieir opinion, attitudes and perceptions towards their cooperation with employers and working environment specialist, questionnaire surveys were conducted by authors in 2002 and 2009. 

As we have discussed, changes in an environment and behaviors can be assessed directly through systematic observations changes in knowledge, perceptions, police, attitudes, and intentions are only assessable indirectly through survey techniques, usually questionnaires [2]. 

Assess. Survey the culture to determine prevailing attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors related to safety and the environment by way of confidential questionnaires (perception survey), interviews (independent review process), focus group meetings, and visits to assess workplace conditions and possible contributions to incidents [4]. We will cover this in more detail in Chapter 17. 

A safety climate questionnaire was circulated throughout the factory to gain views on a variety of aspects associated with safety culture and the working environment. The survey produced a 70 per cent response rate and the results helped to guide and structure the implementation of this initiative. 

In 2007, two surveys were conducted by the Virginia Tech researchers to learn about the home plumbing issues and the preventive measures taken against future corrosion incidences. The first survey acquired information on the incidents of pinhole leaks in the residential area, the adoption rate of preventive measures against corrosion, the homeowners preferences for corrosion risk, and the costs associated with a leak free environment. The second survey elicited preferences for three hypothetical plumbing materials with different attribute levels. The sample of respondents was based on the first Southeastern Community survey respondents, who were willing to participate in the follow-up questionnaire.

This paper has three main objectives, which are to provide an image of the GE from the USAL, get close to the social perception that the GE observed in their environment in relation to their activity and training, and create a platform for teachers to receive those contributions or improvements that according to the GE s criteria should be included in training. With these purposes in mind we created and distributed by e-mail a survey with thirty questions. The potential population of the survey was 110 students, which were the total course enrollments between 2001/2002 and 2007/2008 that have not abandoned the degree. Finally, twenty-four questionnaires were returned, based upon which a statistical analysis has been carried out looking at the different issues questioned.
