The WHO/FAO (1978) has issued practical advice in a Data Sheet on Pesticides, No. 36 (Chlordane), dealing with labeling, safe-handling, transport, storage, disposal, decontamination, training and medical supervision of workers, first aid, and medical treatment. 

Figure 4.1 illustrates the nature of a job s safety risk profile, and what an employee can potentially encounter when they begin a new job. Education, experience, and training can prepare a new employee for normal and known safety risks. However, a number of other factors can add safety risks to a job. Figure 4.1 shows a number of these factors equipment safety issues, task assignment, workload and performance requirements, scheduling and work hours, environmental variance, co-worker behavior, supervision, and employee silence and safety voice. As with the supervised learning categorization networks, there are a few items that need to be discussed for the unsupervised case. Scaling or preprocessing of input data is still important. The number of output PEs is usually arbitrary unless you have reason to believe your data should fall into a certain number of categories. The issue of whether a network can be trained at the near-100% level is irrelevant because you do not know what the correct answers are. It is possible to use an unsupervised learning network to classify data whose correct classifications are known. In this case you can talk about percent correct again, see Chapter 10 of Ref. 19. 

Besides the setting and the quality of the models, feedback is a central issue in order to benefit from simulation training. The concept of a practical demonstration of an exercise followed by the performance in a team of two is feasible, as well as to have one experienced tutor supervising 4 participants (fig. 2). Teachers should symbolize operative skills and be trained to give adequate feedback with empathy, first outlining the excellent performance and second correct and add points of potential improvements [10, 11]. 

In this context, the role of the healthcare coordinator is very important (26), as for each individual, issues such as supervision of the home equipment, or planning of the visits for education, or continued training will improve the quality of life for those receiving PMV. 

For other workplace safety issues basic communication skills will be important. Employees are expected to be able to present their work at laboratory meetings, conferences, and in publications, and these can have a safety component. New employees are often assigned to safety committees, and will have to deliver oral and written reports. They may eventually be responsible for training others under their supervision. In emergencies, good English skills are essential for the rapid dissemination of instructions.
