STUCCO FINISH

Poly(vinyl alcohol) is used as an additive to dry-wall joint cements and stucco finish compounds. Rapid cold-water solubiUty, which can be achieved with finely ground PVA, is important in many dry mixed products. Partially hydrolyzed grades are commercially available in fine-particle size under the name S-grades. The main purpose of the poly(vinyl alcohol) is to improve adhesion and act as a water-retention aid.

Any of these mortars can be used for unit masonry or for stucco (exterior plaster). The finish coat in conventional interior plastering is composed of either neat time putty or a sanded putty, gauged with Keene s cement or gypsum-gauging plaster. The former is called a whitecoat finish the latter a sandfloat finish. 

The chamber is constructed of mill finished stucco embossed aluminum with a 20 gauge heavy duty galvanized steel floor. The choice of an all aluminum structure was based on the lack of reactivity of formaldehyde with aluminum (9, observed adsorption of formaldehyde on steel sheet metal(10), and the availability of a prefabricated walk-in cooler. 

Stucco- Refers to an outside plaster finish made with Portland cement as its base. 

Masonry conditioner n. A solvent-based, pigmented primer coating formulated to have great penetrating power so as to prepare masonry (especially chalky stucco) to receive finish coats. Particularly important under latex paints.

The expansion of KYNAR 500 based finishes has been fueled by the development of new colors and textures. There are now metallic fluoropolymer coatings, stucco and cement like finishes, and even roofing tiles that simulate the look of terra cotta ceramics. 

Non-preserved coatings, no matter they are classified as mineral -, styrene acrylic -, or silicon bound stucco, or paint finishes, are prone to microbial defacement.

The process begins with raking of the masonry mortar joints to a depth of in.. Dust and debris were then washed away and the walls were predampened. Contaminated surfaces were to be scored with an axe. Stucco was then prepared in a fluid, workable consistency, and was applied in two hfts. The first lift was intended to fill the raked masonry joints and to provide a thin base-coat over the masonry surface. The second coat was installed over the soft base coat to a depth of j in. and was immediately finished. The stucco was then cured for several days. The stucco recipe in Table 6 is cited ... 

You may have historic plaster walls in your house, or you might have faux-finish plaster meant to replicate the feel of these walls. Whatever the case, it s useful to know how to repair it. The techniques in this section apply to stucco (usually an exterior finish) as well as to lime plaster (calcium hydroxide mixed with sand and water), though you ll need to add Portland cement to the mix for exterior stucco surfaces (the experts at your local home improvement store should be able to help).

Finish or topcoats can also be named render, plaster or stucco. Normally shght differences apply, for example in thickness of the coating depending on the technology used. As far as the use of redispersible powder is concerned, they can be considered equivalent.)...
