The Russian Chemical Society (RKhO) remained the only nationwide chemical society in the Russian Empire from its organization in 1868 until after the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution. The society remained located in St. Petersburg at the 

These professors apparently wanted the Russian Chemical Society to be created, but once it was established, they did not feel it necessary to maintain their membership. What this implies is that the society was seen as a specialized scientific society for chemists, not a broader scientific society that would encompass various academic disdpfines. 

The two sections operated independently for the most part, while the combined society alternated presidents from the two sections. The main joint activity of the society was a combined meeting of the two sections held every year. However, despite Mendeleev s hopes, there is little evidence that the combination of the two societies aided either their scientific or their social activities. The structure and membership of the Inspection Response Team should be agreed upon in accordance with predefined internal guidelines. Inspection Response Teams are usually established at a site level. The Inspection Response Team Manager should not have to negotiate release of key personnel. Table 16.2 suggests Inspection Response Team roles and responsibilities. One individual may fulfill more than one role, but careful consideration should be given to whether certain mixes of roles actually conflict. Named deputies should be recorded in case primary nominations are not available for whatever reason. 

Reference is made to current Nuclear Installations Inspectorate (Nil) policy, in criticality safety matters as in other safety flelds, not to impose rigid requirements, and reasons are given for believing this course to be beneficial.
