Stability on storage

Another type of stability required of a war gas is that it shall not undergo decomposition or polymerisation during storage. The decomposition which takes place in some substances, such as bromoacetone, hydrocyanic acid, etc., may be so inconvenient that the storage of such compounds is impossible. [Pg.13]

Pol5mierisation usually results in the formation of substances of little or no toxicity, as happens, for example, in the case of acrolein. [Pg.13]

This form of alteration has raised the problem of stabilisers, that is, substances which when added in quite small quantity, preserve the aggressive properties of the gas. For some of these gases, as acrolein, hydrocyanic acid, etc., efficient stabilisers are [Pg.13]

The metering of dry powder inhalers is closely linked to the device itself and may be divided into three common systems capsules, multidosing blister packs, and reservoir systems. The consideration that goes into these metering systems include convenience to the patients, stability on storage, compatibility with product, and ease of filling. [Pg.491]

Microballoons have the advantage of giving a well controlled addition of sensitiser and also improved stability on storage. They are however less effective than direct gas occlusions when measured at constant explosive density and therefore tend to have most use in conjunction with the soluble additives described below. [Pg.58]

Product-specific formulations should be developed, taking account of specific degradation pathways to prevent chemical and physical changes, aggregation, adsorption and loss of biological activity, and to provide long-term stability on storage.18... [Pg.292]

Some procedures for detection and determination of the damage caused by autoxidation are aimed at the determination of rather indefinite substances for example, the ASTM D-4625-92 standard test for fuel stability on storage consists of tracking the amount of insoluble gums formed by oxidation at a slightly elevated temperature . [Pg.664]

Oxidation indices, 656-72 peroxide determination, 762-3 peroxide value, 656, 657-64 colorimetry, 658-61 definition, 657 direct titration, 657 electrochemical methods, 663-4 IR spectrophotometry, 661-3 NIR spectrophotometry, 663 UV-visible spectrophotometry, 658-61 secondary oxidation products, 656, 665-72 tests for stability on storage, 664-5, 672 thermal analysis, 672 Oxidative amperometiy, hydroperoxide determination, 686 Oxidative cleavage alkenes, 1094-5 double bonds, 525-7 Oxidative couphng, hydrogen peroxide determination, 630, 635 Oxidative damage... [Pg.1477]

Chapter 6, 1 Assessment of Explosives", which includes Power or Strength (pp 65-8) Velocity of Detonation (69-72) Sensitiveness, to Friction and to Impact (72—6) Stability on Storage (76—8) Fume Test (78—9) and Miscellaneous Tests, such as for. Brisance and Speed of Gelatinization of NC (79—80). Chapter 7 Gallery Testing of Permitted Explosives (85—9)... [Pg.353]

Hexamine diperchlorates are strong explosives. In spite of this the compound has not come into commercial use because of its insufficient stability on storage. [Pg.488]

Well-defined aliphatic polyesters and dendrons based on 2,2-bis(methylol)pro-pionic acid (bis-MPA) are commercially available from the Swedish company Polymer Factory. Their stability on storage, solubility, and low toxicity make them attractive for the medical sector. [Pg.108]

Formulations are optimized with additives to control granule strength, dissolution, chemical stability, viscosity, stability on storage, or fungal growth. They can also contain toning dyes and auxiliaries to improve their efficiency in a given application. [Pg.610]

In numerous patents the synthesis of suitable furo-, thieno-, and pyrrolo-tropylium salts is described, for example, that of squarylium dyes like 623 and 624 (Scheme 169 85JAP60/262163 86JAP61/185487 88JAP63/41858, 88JAP63/102990). These substances serve as components of photoconduc-tive thin layers for electrophotographic photoreceptors. The materials are claimed to exhibit increased sensitivity, stability on storage, and durability to laser-beam reading. [Pg.389]

Since the heating temperature is rather high, especially so for multibase powders, it was proposed by Siebert to determine the weight loss at a lower temperature and not to limit the duration of heating, but to continue it until some auto-catalytic or other evident decomposition becomes apparent. This test, which should be carried out at 90, 75 and 65 °C (149°F), may also be employed to indicate the loss of stability on storage (shelf life) of a propellant. [Pg.167]

Properties White powder, soluble in acetone and ether-alcohol. 12.5-12.7 per cent nitrogen. Highly inflammable. Can be detonated by No. 8 commercial blasting cap. Stability on storage decreases with slightly elevated temperatures. Decomposes above 100°. [Pg.111]

Stability on storage at room temperature and elevated temperatures (e.g. up to 150 C) and in some types of charges at low temperature. They should not react with carbon dioxide in atmosphere. [Pg.594]

The presence of the ester function in the molecular structure facilitates rapid biodegradation in sewage but also threatens its chemical stability on storage in the bottle and in the rinse, where it has to work at a slightly alkaline pH. At pH 6, for instance, the molecule is completely degraded after four weeks of storage at 50°C [6], Paradoxically the hydrolytic stability is much enhanced by keeping the pH below 3.5. [Pg.507]

What is its stability on storage to cold, heat, light, water, metals, etc. ... [Pg.34]
