Some Special Cases

There are some special conditions in electrochemical simulations that have an effect on stability.

As is so often the case with cultivated plants, the systematic botany of citrus fruits is exceedingly confused, especially since the recognized species seem to be almost completely interfertile. Each factor on the rhs of (3.6.17) is the PF of a single subunit. The factorizing of in this case is the same as if j (k) = c = 1, i.e., when there are no interactions between the subunits. As we have seen in earlier sections, an effective independence can also be achieved under weaker conditions.

In some special cases, steam filtration can be used to gain the advantages ot temperature without having to heat the feed slurry.

So far there is no cover-all recipe for remedying these undesirable phenomena yet recommendations have been made for some special cases which included proper choice of process conditions and methods, rational design of molds and articles allowing one to minimize the negative effect of filler and matrix orientation in the manufacturing process [370],... 

Nowadays economy and ecology render the reuse of the sulfite solution increasingly important. Normally the scrubber liquor is recovered as dilution water directly in the neutralization of sulfonation plant or in the slurry preparation unit of synthetic detergent plants. In some special cases, when the presence of sulfites is incompatible with the slurry composition, it is possible to install as optional a sulfite oxidation unit. This oxidation takes place with atmospheric air. 

There are some special cases where tetrahedral intermediates are unusually stable there are three phenomena which lead to this stability enhancement. The first is an unusually reactive carbonyl (or imine) compound which is very prone to addition. An example of such a compound is trichoroacetaldehyde or chloral, for which the covalent hydrate can be isolated. A simple way to recognize such compounds is to think of the carbonyl group as a (very) stabilized carbocation, bearing an substituent. 

In some special cases the adducts react in a different way in the presence ofTHF. 

Today it is widely accepted that fivefold coordinated silicon plays a key role in the reaction mechanisms of the nucleophilic substitution having a trigonal bipyramidal transition state species which ressemble these transition states can be isolated in some special cases. The structural features fit well to kinetic data and possibly explain the significantly higher reactivity (proved by experimental data) of Si-pentacoordinated compounds compared to their tetracoordinated analoga. 

Optimal sampling. As was pointed out earlier, the error in the derivative of A is proportional to ak j Jnk(N). The optimal sampling is therefore obtained when ak/ Jnk(N) is constant as a function of k. In regions where ak is large, additional sample points should be added to compensate. Solutions of the Population Balance. Solution of the population balance is not trivial. Analytical solutions are available for only a limited number of special cases. Table 8 lists analytical solutions for some special cases of practical importance. In general, analytical solutions are only available for specific initial or inlet size distributions. However, for batch coalescence, at long times the size distribution may become self preserving. The size distribution is self preserving if the normalized size distributions at long times are independent of mean size ... 

Note that the charge-exchange cross sections given here are rather approximate. In some special cases, better approximations may be available however, modifications of Bohr s formulas were considered adequate for use over a large range of particle charge and energy. 

However, in some special cases, the lost of information due to the thresholding procedure may cause a noticeable systematic error, because each lattice point such that < )(r) > < )0 contributes the same volume fraction 1/L3 regardless of the field magnitude. This may be possible in some special cases (stationary bottleneck situation, friendly requirements situation, etc.). Quite often one happily accepts a solution that is declared to be optimal by the program. 

Kocevar et al. investigated the reactivity of 3-hydrazinopyridazines 386 in the presence of the oxazolone compound 387 <2001H(54)1011 >. In some special cases (mostly when R8 = Me), formation of 388 in high yields was observed, while in other cases an entirely different transformation (formation of a pyrazolone ring as a substituent instead of the hydrazine group) was experienced.
