Compounds of Pentacoordinated

Many compounds of pentacoordinated arsenic(V) containing only As—C bonds are reported in the literature and are summarized in Table I. 

Compounds of pentacoordinated arsenic(V) containing at least one As—N bond are summarized in Table III. Only some of these need discussion. Compounds of pentacoordinated arsenic(V) containing As—halogen bonds are summarized in Table VI. Compounds containing As—Br and As—I bonds are generally ionic and hence are not included in the table. For the same reason, compounds of type R4ASX have been excluded.
