Snap-on closure

Different consumer needs, whether for infant, child, or adult, varies the concentrations of the active ingredients in a nasal drug formulation. Fig. 4 shows a typical nasal spray system fitted with a snap-on closure. The dispensing system can be adapted to the anatomy of the patient. The actuators for pediatric application are slimmer in their geometry and the dosage volume is reduced (Fig. 5). [Pg.1204]

A snap-fit, or snap-on, closure is made of a resilient material and is designed to deform as it passes over a protruding feature on the container (Fig. 11.7). Removal of the closure requires deformation again to snap the closure back over the protruding feature, which is typically a retaining ring. When the closure is in place, some resilient part of the closure system that is in contact with the container remains deformed, and provides a seal as it attempts to return to its original dimen-... [Pg.295]

Dampers that snap closed have often incurred sufficient vacuum on the downstream side to coUapse the duct (see Ref. 1). Smoke and other control dampers that close normally and restrict the total air flow of a rotating fan can cause pressure (or vacuum) within the duct equal to fan shutoff pressure. A fan might require a full minute after the motor is deenergized before coasting to a safe speed (pressure). Provide adequate duct construction, relief doors, or delayed damper closure (as approved by the authority having jurisdiction). [Pg.118]

Zippers are nothing short of miraculous when they function properly. When they jam or break in public, however, our love affair generally cools. But don t default to snaps. Velcro, or hook-and-eye closures simply because you re intimidated by zippers. It s not rocket science. It just takes a little practice. For your first-time zipper projects, try to choose a zipper with a slider on the smallish side. They re easier to deal with because they re less bulky.
