Slim rod

The substrate for this CVD process is a thin silicon rod, called a slim rod, which serves as a nucleation site for the depositing silicon. After deposition, the EGS, or polysilicon, is processed in the Czochralski (CZ) growth process. [Pg.740]

Polycrystalline silicon (polysilicon) is deposited, upon pyrolytic decomposition of SiHCl at 1000°C on thin pure Si-rods ( slim rods ). The yield can be improved by carrying out the deposition in a H2-containing atmosphere ... [Pg.274]

Long, slim piston rods may buckle if subjected to too heavy a push load. Table 40.4 suggests the minimum diameter piston rod to use under various conditions of load and unsupported rod length. It should be used in accordance with the instmctions in the next paragraph. There must be no side load or bending stress at any point along the piston rod. [Pg.608]

The reciprocating bioreactor is a slim cylindrical vessel with a height/ diameter ratio of the order of 4 to 5 (Brauer and Sucker, 1979). The reactor contains a package of sieve plates attached to five rods. In the reactor of Brauer and Sucker (1979), the plate spacing is 42 mm, the diameter of the holes in the plates is 12 mm, and the hole spacing is 29 mm. This element undergoes a reciprocating motion up and down the reactor with an amplitude of 100 mm. [Pg.129]

In 1982, the Research Center Jiilich presented the conceptual design of a 50 MW(th) nuclear process heat plant with a pebble-bed HTGR, named AVR-II, for which a safety-related study has been conducted [29]. Its characteristic features are a slim steel pressure vessel, no separate decay heat removal system, shutdown and control system via reflector rods, surface cooling system, and a simplified containment. The safety of the reactor is principally based on passive system feamres. [Pg.43]

In 2003, carbon fiber drilling rod was applied in industrial tests. It was successfully used in a horizontal gas well of 422.15 m deep in Oklahoma. This kind of drilling rod can greatly decrease material cost and increase wear-resistance, which can provide technical support for slim-hole drilling. [Pg.97]
