Shimadzu instrumentation

XPSSpectra. They were obtained with an Esca 750 Shimadzu instrument, using MgKa radiatiotL This ectrometer is driven by a computer system (Escapac 760) which allows both the accumulation and the processing of data. The spectra were obtained at room temperature. [Pg.632]

The concentrations of unreacted o-xylene, o-tolualdehyde, phthaJide, phthalic anhydride and carbon dioxide were determined by chromatography using a Shimadzu instrument equiped with FID and TCD detectors. No CO formation was detected. [Pg.477]

The first NIR instruments were, in reality, developed for the UV and Vis regions of the spectrum. They were made by seven companies Beckman, Cary (now owned by Varian), Coleman, Perkin-Elmer, Shimadzu, Unicam, and Zeiss. Based on the work of Karl Norris and coworkers in the USDA, the Illinois Department of Agriculture solicited bids from companies to produce a pure NIR instrument, capable of measuring protein, oil, and moisture in soybeans. [Pg.171]

The Shimadzu is a basically similar instrument to photometer (a), but has much superior facilities for temperature control. The low angle PG-21 instrument, superseded subsequently by an improved version LS-2 are both modifications of the Shimadzu by Utiyama et al,44, S1. In the later version the temperature stability within 5°-100 °C is probably the best available in any instrument, and this photometer is capable of allowing routine measurements at angles down to 9°. [Pg.163]

Elemental analyses were performed on a LECO CHNS 932 instrument. H-NMR spectra were determined with a Varian UNITY INOVA 500 MHz NMR spectrometer. IR spectra were recorded as KBr disks in the range of400 000 cm" on a SHIMADZU FTIR-8300 spectrometer. The electronic absorptions spectra were measiued in DMSO for 3,4 with a UNICAM UV2-100 UVATSIBLE spectrometer. [Pg.362]

Tensile Testing. The most widely used instrument for measuring the viscoelastic properties of solids is the tensile tester or stress—strain instrument, which extends a sample at constant rate and records the stress. Creep and stress—relaxation can also be measured. Numerous commercial instmments of various sizes and capacities are available. They vary greatly in terms of automation, from manually operated to completely computer controlled. Some have temperature chambers, which allow measurements over a range of temperatures. Manufacturers include Instron, MTS, Tinius Olsen, Applied Test Systems, Thwing-Albert, Shimadzu, GRC Instmments, SATEC Systems, Inc., and Monsanto. [Pg.195]

Figure 12.9—OpticaI scheme of a spectrofluorimeter having two detectors, one of which is used to control the intensity of the light source. A fraction of the incident beam is reflected by the beam splitter and monitored by a photodiode to control the intensity of the incident beam. Comparison of the signals obtained from both detectors allows the elimination of any drift in the light source. This procedure, for single beam instruments, gives approximately the same stability as with double beam instruments. (Model F4500 reproduced by permission of Shimadzu.)... Absorption spectra were obtained with a Shimadzu model UV-3000 spectrophotometer in the split beam mode. Fluorescence spectra were scanned with the same instrument supplemented with a fluorescence attachment and a Hamamatsu R473 multiplier. A solution of 3 gL 1 rhodamine B in polyethyleneglycol was used as a photon counter. The digitized spectra were transferred to a Hewlett Packard microcomputer (model 226) for storage and processing. [Pg.143]

LC-MS/MS System Used and Analytical Conditions LC-10 Advp and controller SCL-10 Avp (Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, USA) connected to a Micromass Quattro Micro mass spectrometer (Micromass, UK). The mass spectrometer was equipped with an Electrospray ionization source. [Pg.616]

LC-MS/MS System Used and Analytical Conditions A Shimadzu liquid chromatography system was used (Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, USA). The system consisted of a Shimadzu SCL-10A VP system controller with four LC-10AD VP pumps. A Perkin-Elmer series 200 autosampler, equipped with a cool-tray (Perkin Elmer, Norwalk, CT, USA) was used for sample injection. Moreover, a six-port switching-valve was implemented in order to switch between an extraction column and the analytical column. Samples were injected onto the extraction column (Oasis HLB column). After a short extraction/equilibration time of 0.3 min, the samples were eluted from the extraction column onto the analytical column (Symmetry C18) (Figure 1). [Pg.625]
