Service Invocation

Al A service invocation API required for triggering the services provided by the tool. [Pg.192]

With the second level of tool interaction control), we introduce the notion of loose process integration. Loose process integration corresponds to the most often addressed case of commercial tools that restrict their external interactions to those of service invocation and notifications for tool events. Such tools provide service invocation (Al) and feedback information (A2) APIs (Table 3.1), but they provide no means for extending their user interface with new command elements (A3), or increasing their process sensitivity by highlight product shapes or command elements and returning feedback concerning their selection (A4, A5 and A6). [Pg.208]

A parameterized attribute, such as alternateSessions(dates), is an abstraction of state. When it is implemented, there will be a way to determine the value of that attribute for each applicable value of the parameter in its range. In this sense, it can be easily confused with a read-only operation a query that can be invoked as a service returns a value and has no side effect. We choose to distinguish clearly between state abstractions (attributes) and invocable operations. [Pg.145]

Calculation of molecular properties via invocation of molecular modeling algorithms using, e.g., Web services. [Pg.96]

Communication with a Web Service (using the XML-based Simple Object Access Protocol, SOAP [974]) is normally comprised of uncompressed text messages. The invocation of a Web Service is performed by a specially formed request to a web server or an application server. No absolute guarantees can be made either regarding the reachability of a particular Web Service or its temporal characteristics. [Pg.424]

Since the calls are discrete events we also choose a discrete time scale, as in Lamport s clocks [801]. This is motivated by the impossibility to assign meaningful values to real points in time when there were no prior invocations of the service. Moreover, we assume that the time span between two subsequent calls is of no great importance for the evaluation and selection algorithm, or that at least the relevant effects are accounted for indirectly, e.g. by preserving the daytime fluctuations in the measurement series. [Pg.426]

Integrating both pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic analyses, a life-cycle complete pharmacometric analysis process comprises seven major subprocesses, as depicted in Figure 36.3. That is, any comprehensive pharmacometrics enterprise will be capable of executing and governing the complete process—all seven major subprocesses—from invocation to termination. Of course, not every performance of the service will necessarily require the comprehensive and complete pharmacometrics enterprise. [Pg.911]

Integration Applications can cooperate by exchanging data, providing services (client/server method invocation), pubhshing service exceptions, and publishing and subscribing to events. [Pg.1772]

Sixth generation RPC— Federated Method Invocation (FMI) [19] allows for concurrent invocations on multiple federating compute nodes in the Service-Oriented Computing Environment (SORCER) [20-25]. [Pg.76]

An exertion submitted to the network dynamically binds to all relevant and currently available service providers in the network. The providers that dynamically participate in this invocation are collectively called the exertion federation. This federation is also called the exertion meta-processor since federating services are located on multiple computer nodes held together by the SORCER operating system (SOS) so that, to the requestor submitting the exertion, it looks and acts like a single processor. [Pg.77]

In order to verify the correctness of Liferay services, a study on its plugins interaction has been conducted. The necessity for the preliminary study has been felt because of the strictly correlated invocations among methods exposed by web services. [Pg.237]

Due to the preliminary study performed for the functional test, a generic knowledge of methods invocation was available to configure the tool to generate better tests. This knowledge was especially important for the tool to use values that exercise the code of the web service under test in a more complete way. After the configuration of the tool it submits the robustness tests in an automated way and reports the robustness problems found. [Pg.238]

The output produced during the execution of the test is displayed on the screen of the Test and Collect system and consists of a sequence of services methods invocations. For each one of these, the HTTP response code is printed out. In a functional test is mandatory that the HTTP response code would match with the expected one. [Pg.239]

In the ICO Petri net dialect, time is directly related to transition, which invokes services from the weather radar system (this is the case for transition off Tl on Fig. 9 which switches off the equipment). The duration of each invocation is presented on Fig 13 (each value is coarse grain and depends on the type of weather radar). The 2000-4000ms value corresponds to the time required by the weather radar to scan the airspace in front of the aircraft (two or three scans are needed to get a reliable image). [Pg.226]
