Selection of Textbooks

These criteria show that we took care to select textbooks that are important for the science education community not only in the U.S.A., but also worldwide. Consultations with colleagues revealed that they studied not only the textbooks that have multiple editions (see examples above, especially Table 4) but also consulted other textbooks found in the library in order to find new perspectives and [Pg.15]


This is a future feature. At the time of this printing, only one book is available on the PubMed Web site. PubMed is working with book publishers to be able to offer a larger selection of textbooks for the user to search online. [Pg.582]

If the designer is to do the job properly, it is important to have accurate data on which to base calculations. That is why test borings and proper laboratory analysis to determine the E value of the soil sample are essential. An arbitrary textbook selection of a soil modulus should always be avoided. Homogeneous Catalysis, S. Bhaduri and D. Mukesh, Wiley-Interscience 2000, 239 pp., ISBN 0-471-37221-8. This introductory textbook emphasizes the practical side, with a chapter dedicated to chemical engineering basics and process unit operations. The authors cover several examples of industrial homogeneous catalysis processes. Although the book is aimed at graduate students, it contains relatively few references to the primary literature. Each chapter is accompanied by a good selection of review questions and problems. [Pg.29]

Comprehensive monographs are also available detailing the analysis of mass transfer though porous and dense membranes. The editors envisaged a careful planning and harmonization of the contents of the chapters.
