Generalizations about the photographic appearance of other features commonly found on the agricultural landscape can also be made. Clear water usually appears very dark blue or black, but muddy or turbid water appears light to medium blue. This is useful for satellite tracking of pollution situations. Fresh grain stubble appears very light or almost white, whereas clean plowed fields of dark soil usually appear dark blue. [Pg.1293]

As an indication of line transient/surges, a commercial power line of 480 volts to a satellite tracking station was monitored for spikes greater than one joule by Odenburg (H). [Pg.113]

Figure 7. Locations of Warm Core Rings 82-B and 82-H during 1982 (15). The dashed line indicates the path of motion of the center of 82-B over time (provided by Don Olsen, Univ. of Miami, Rosensteil School for Mar. and Atmos. Sciences). The solid line indicates the path followed by a satellite tracked drifter released in the center of 82-B in August. This drifter stayed with the ring until the ring was reabsorbed by the Gulf Stream. It was then swept into the Gulf Stream and was transported rapidly to the area of formation of Ring 82-H by late September 1982. Figure 7. Locations of Warm Core Rings 82-B and 82-H during 1982 (15). A satellite tracking antenna has an angle 6 (radians) with the horizontal axis that must change as the satellite travels across the sky. To accomplish this, a feedback controller Gc(s) is used. The controller s setpoint is the desired angle and its output is the drive motor torque on the antenna T, Wind also exerts a torque on the antenna Tp. The equation of motion of the antenna is... [Pg.298]

NextGen Acronym for Next Generation Air Transportation System. The latest technology in development for air traffic control, it involves satellite tracking and global positioning systems. [Pg.41]

The CUSPIS system aims to improve the protection of cultural assets (CA), such as sculptures and paintings, through the use of computer-based strategies (e.g. cr q)tography and satellite tracking). Our experimentation focuses on two services cultural asset authentication and cultural asset transportation s. [Pg.11]
