Rubbers pulverization

There are two categories of white oils technical white oils and medicinal white oils. The technical white oils, which are already highly dearomatized, are used for specialized lubricants, particularly in the textile industry, and also as components in cosmetics, as plasticizers in the rubber or plastics industries, or as emulsion bases for certain pulverized agriculture products. The medicinal white oils, whose dearomatization is pushed further still, are used in pharmaceuticals, or in the food industry, wherever residual oils might be in contact with food. [Pg.291]

De-wiring increases the costs of energy recovery by 25-50% (Amari et al. 1999). Some power companies have also conducted successful test bums with crumb-rubber TDF in their pulver-ized-coal boilers (Jones 1998). [Pg.482]

Explosion Unit Operation (See also "Explosive Disintegration"). The explosion technique has been applied successfully for the modification of substances and for separation of components, as well as for size reduction of materials. This method has been used in rubber reclaiming, wood pulping, manufacture of fiber board, pulverization of minerals and coal and finally for the prepn of puffed cereals... [Pg.265]

The materials for conductive mixtures were finely pulverized by hall milling using chloroform or absolute methanol as a medium with steel balls VA- 1% inch diam. The materials and medium were placed in a rubher container and rolled on a rolling mill for 2- 3 hours. For blending the calcd wts of dry materials were tumbled in a rubber beaker which was rotated at 25—35 rpm hy an air-driven motor. The resulting blend was weighed in required amt on a Roller-Smith.Balance and poured into test fixture shown in Fig E14, held in a loading assembly. [Pg.689]

Each mixt was evapd in vacuo at low temp to the point of formation of crysts- After decanting the mother liquor, the crysts were pulverized coated with a soln of crude rubber (or other gummy subst) in petroleum naphtha and then either pressed or grained. Mixture No 1 was suitable for miliatry purposes and was recommended for loading torpedoes Ref Daniel (1902), 181-82... [Pg.440]

Wear nitrile rubber gloves, laboratory coat, and eye protection, and work from behind body shield where possible. Keep available pulverized dolomite or dry graphite for firefighting. Eliminate all sources of ignition. Follow waste disposal procedure. [Pg.33]

Liquid nitrogen is used in the cold-trapping of materials such as carbon dioxide and volatile organic carbons (VOCs) from gas streams, as a coolant for electronic equipment, for pulverizing plastics or rubber material, for deflashing of rubber tires, and for simulating the conditions... [Pg.1221]

A pyrolysis system has been developed to recover useful material from scrap tires. An actual plant was constructed in 1979 The plant will be on a trial for a year to demonstrate that the equipment of the plant satisfies the test specifications and that the recovered carbon black has the quality demanded by the rubber industry. After passing one year tests, it will be put into commercial operation. This project is a full scale recycling for scrap tires supported by public agencies which also supported the pulverizing plant in Osaka. It is expected that the completion of the project will open a new course for recycling and disposal of waste. [Pg.550]

Polyurethane is a very common crosslinked polymer and many materials produced from it end up as waste. Given the quantity of material, recycling is a major problem. Cryogenic pulverization systems have been developed which can process PU foam to particles smaller than 1 mm (preferably <100 pm)/ " These particles are homogenized with polyol and then reacted with isocyanates to produce foam. This foam with 5% pulverized PU foam has a density equivalent to a similar foam produced without the recycled material. A further increase in filler content causes a density increase. Pulverized PU foam particles were also tried as a filler in natural rubber vulcanizates with good results. Figure 12.10 shows the effect of PU... [Pg.532]
