Reclaim Rubber. The process of reclaiming mbber by chemical digestion has been in use since the late 1800s. Early processes involved the treatment of the mbber cord mix with acid. Acids attack cotton, rayon, and nylon. The acid treatment was used to remove the reinforcing components. 

Many grades of recycled rubber produced from grinding and heating of vulcanized rubber products such as tyres, baby bottle nipples and other goods are also available. Although reclaimed rubber offers some processing advantages, its use has declined in recent years because of the extensive use of blended polymers. 

Reclaimed rubber can be used in non-vulcanizing general-purpose NR adhesives. It can be used for insulation, packaging materials, and bonding of polyethylene, canvas, metals and wood.

An electric conductive rubber base containing carbon black is laminated with an electric conductive cover layer of phosphoric acid ester plasticizer and other ionic surfactants to prepare antistatic mats, where the covers have colors other than black. It is also reported that alkyl acid phosphates act as color stabilizer for rubber. Small amounts of phosphate esters are helpful in restoring reclaimed rubber to a workable viscosity [284,290]. Esters of phosphoric acid are used in the production of UV-stable and flame-retarded alkylbenzenesulfonate copolymer compositions containing aliphatic resins and showing a high-impact strength...

The variety of processes used in the manufacture of reclaimed rubber. 

Reclaimed rubber made from pneumatic tyres which have ended their useful lives. Tyres form the main source of material for reclaiming. See Reclaimed Rubber. 

For some applications, such as when it is necessary to dissolve or solvate rubbers, or rubber compounds to form doughs and solutions it is desirable to use a machine in this category. Various types of machines can be used to produce the required form. Grinders are also used to reduce scrap vulcanisate to form a rubber crumb for purposes of working this waste product back into cheap compounds, or prior to reclaiming rubber by chemical processes.

This depends on the polymer type and increases with higher dry filler loading and reduces with peptizing agents, plasticizers, softeners, reclaimed rubber or resins.
