Rotary grinder

After the invention of the Hollander beater in the late 1600s, metallic impurities (copper and iron) got into the paper pulp by contact with the metal rotary grinders. This type of beater is blamed also for the accelerated decline of quality in papers because its particular beating action shortened the fibers. Another production change reduced the amounts of alkaline earth carbonates present new forms of gelatin, made from sinew and muscle, did not possess the natural alkalinity of the byproduct of the parchment maker. 

Using Texmet (Buehler) or equivalent cloth, and 15-pm diamond paste or oil slurry, or other suitable grinding pad, and a horizontal rotary grinder / polisher, reduce the section to the final desired thickness (quartz at 25 pm has an interference color no higher than medium first-order gray).

Whole body vibration may affect multiple body parts and organs depending on the vibration characteristics. Segmental vibration, unlike whole body vibration, appears to be more localized in creating injury to the fingers and hands of workers using tools, such as pneumatic hammers, rotary grinders, or other hand tools that cause vibration. 

The floated mica concentrate is dewatered. After dewatering (qv), the mica is either dried in a fluid-bed rotary drier, flash dried in a fluid energy mill, or sold "drip-dry" to other mica grinders. The dry mica is then ground and screened to a si2e gradation dictated by the customer.

The spent activated carbon from plant HVAC filters and from respirators is first heat-treated in a heated, helical screw conveyor to drive off agent and is then reduced to less than 0.5 mm in a wet spent carbon grinder. Offgas from the processing of the carbon will be treated by the gas treatment system of either the projectile rotary hydrolyzer (PRH) or the ERH. The micronized carbon is mixed with water in the hydropulper (Step 9) and separately processed through the SCWO reactors of the energetics hydrolysis system.

The muscles were freed by gross dissection of extraneous tissue which was mainly fat and peripheral nerves, and then stored at -40°C. For an experiment, approximately 1 kg tissue was macerated by a meat grinder and homogenized in ten volumes of tetrahydrofuran 0.01 M KC1 (4 1, v/v), stirred for 3 hours, and filtered through a Buchner funnel. The extraction was repeated twice and the filtrates then combined and concentrated in a rotary evaporator. One liter of chloroform-methanol (2 1, v/v) was added to the lipid extract which has the appearance and consistency of syrup. Gangliosides were partitioned into the upper layer by the addition of 200 ml of water (11) and the lower layer extracted two additional times with theoretical upper phase containing 0.027% KC1. The combined upper layers were then concentrated and dialyzed exhaustively at 4°C with five changes of distilled water.
