Resumes appearance

The catalyst companies were encouraged to resume their research activities in automotive catalysis in the late 1960 s as further tightening of automotive emissions standards became imminent, and it appeared that mere engine modifications might be inadequate to meet the new standards. A systems approach was first used upon the formation of the Inter-Industry Emission Control Program by the Ford Motor Company and the Mobil Oil Corporation in 1967, which was joined by a number of oil companies in the U.S. and a number of automobile companies in Italy, Japan, and Western Germany. 

The checkers judged that the end point had been reached when the yellow-green color persisted for 2-3 minutes after the chlorine flow had been stopped. At the first appearance of the yellow-green color, the gas stream was shut off, and the color laded within ca. 15 sec. The chlorine flow was resumed at a slow rale until the end point was reached. 

The reaction mixture is allowed to stand for 1 to 2 hours (or overnight, if more convenient) after this interval the solution will have assumed a clear, pale yellow color. The condenser is then set for downward distillation, stirring is resumed, and the solvent is removed by distillation from a steam bath (Note 5). After nearly all the ether has been removed, the distillation is continued under reduced pressure (40-50 mm.) until no further appearance of crystals is noted. The residue, which consists of yellow crystals of the crude product, is then allowed to stand until dry in a vacuum desiccator which contains concentrated sulfuric acid, soda lime, and anhydrous calcium chloride (Note 6). 

The negotiations were resumed only after the agreement of Hitler with Russia in 1939, which resulted in an economic agreement with Russia. Then the men of the Russian oil industry appeared in Germany, and I again had to negotiate with them about new gasoline processes, analytical processes, and so forth. 

The sole biochemical function of 2 -5A (and hence 2 -5 A synthetase) appears to be as an activator of a dormant endo-RNase, which is expressed constitutively in the cell. This RNase, known as RNase L or RNase F, cleaves all types of single-stranded RNA (ssRNA). This inhibits production of both viral and cellular proteins, thus paralyzing viral replication. Presumably, cellular destruction of the invading ssRNA will be accompanied by destruction of any additional viral components. Removal of dsRNA would facilitate deactivation of the endo-RNase, allowing translation of cellular mRNA to resume. A 2-5 phosphodiesterase represents a third enzymatic... 

The characteristics of the hydrogenation of norbornadiene, substituted butadienes and conjugated and cyclic dienes are all very similar. In the case of conjugated dienes, there appears to be hardly any isomerization activity, while in the case of 1,4-dienes an isomerization step to form the corresponding 1,3-diene is assumed prior to hydrogenation. The catalyst behavior changes after the diene has been completely converted to the monoene, whereupon the rhodium catalyst resumes its normaF monoene hydrogenation behavior. 

This highly exothermic reaction often has an induction period the end of which is characterized by a rapid temperature rise dependent on the amount of dibromide already added. At the first sign of reaction (watch the thermometer closely), addition of dibromide should be stopped and should be resumed only after the temperature has stopped rising. Careful purification of the dimethylformamide appears to minimize the induction period. 

In 1955 the first of a series of studies by the Czechoslovak group headed by Vesely began to appear (see Section 5, iii, (b)). Publications by Plesch and his collaborators, and by the Esso group (Kennedy and Thomas) were not resumed until 1960. This long gap between publications, and the small number of groups involved are good indications of the difficulty of the problem. 

In summary, early evidence appears to confirm the assumption that antidepressants, which successfully effect behavioral change in those with bulimia, will also do so in patients with BED. After discontinuation of a brief course of an antidepressant, binging frequency and severity often resume at pretreatment levels. The longterm efficacy of continued autidepressaut administration is unknown. 

The blind snake Leptotyphlops dulcis is a specialized burrower that feeds on termites and ant brood. It follows the ant pheromone trails to find its prey (Section 12.1). when attacked by ants, this snake tilts its scales individually so that the skin appears silvery. While it writhes, it covers itself with feces and a clear viscous fluid, discharged from the anus. It may also assume a stationary coiled position. when it resumes searching and feeding, it is no longer attacked by ants. The effect lasts from 3 to 30 minutes (Gehlbach etal., 1968). Here a predatory species protects itself from the defensive actions of its prey. 

Dermatologic effects Discontinue these drugs if a skin rash appears. If the rash is exfoliative, purpuric, or bullous, do not resume use. 

IV For IV infusion only. Must not be administered by IM or subcutaneous route. Thrombocytopenia Thrombocytopenia has occurred, primarily with high dose intermittent therapy, but has also been noted after resumption of interrupted treatment. Cerebral hemorrhage and fatalities have occurred when rifampin administration has continued or resumed after appearance of purpura. 

Hyperuricemia Pyrazinamide inhibits renal excretion of urates, frequently resulting in hyperuricemia that is usually asymptomatic. Patients started on pyrazinamide should have baseline serum uric acid determinations. Discontinue the drug and do not resume if signs of hyperuricemia accompanied by acute gouty arthritis appear. 

Hepatic function impairment Patients started on pyrazinamide should have baseline liver function determinations. Closely follow those patients with pre-existing liver disease or those at increased risk for drug-related hepatitis. Discontinue pyrazinamide and do not resume if signs of hepatocellular damage appear. 

In 1940 D. R. Corson, K. R. Mackenzie, and E. Segre at the University of California bombarded bismuth with alpha particles (26, 27). Preliminary tracer studies indicated that they had obtained element 85, which appeared to possess metallic properties. The pressure of war work prevented a continuation of these studies at the time. After the war, the investigators resumed their work, and in 1947 proposed the name astatine, symbol At, for their element. The name comes from the Greek word for unstable, since this element is the only halogen without stable isotopes (28). The longest lived isotope is At210 with a half-life of 8.3 hours and a very high activity. 

Lavoisier resumed his work on combustion and calxes in the spring of 1775. At this time, Lavoisier wrote his initial paper entitled On the Nature of Principles which Combine with Metals During Calcination and Increases Their Weight. A revised version of this paper did not appear until 1778.
