Registration data sharing

Evaluation. Through evaluation, public authorities will look in more detail at registration dossiers and at substances of concern. They can request more information if necessary. At this stage, they will also scrutinize all proposals for animal testing to limit it to the absolute minimum. REACH makes data sharing on animal test results compulsory and prescribes the use of alternative methods wherever possible. 

For other tests, data sharing is required on request by other registrants. 

Also, I thank my other colleagues at Merck John Simon, Dr. Yao Wang, Dr. Annie Samuel, Dr. Jay Mehta, James Goggin, Andrew Ferguson, and Marianne Malloy. They were all part of the Merck Chemical Registration System Project Team, and many of them shared invaluable knowledge about compound data management with me. 

One combination is the linking of the structure editing capability and the VAX Packetnet System Interface (PSI) allowing X25 connection for query transfer to public hosts. Another example is the use of VMS interprocess communication and shared memory for the mixed DARC/DBMS splay or print. A third example is the use of events flags for synchronisation when cross-registration of DARC structures and of DBMS data is undertaken.
