Reflexive relation

MDL 899 (26) is a direct acting arteriolar vasodilator in man, but coadministration of a beta-blocker is necessary to prevent reflex-related side effects. A clinical study with cadralazlne (ISF 2469, 27) shows this compound similar to hydralazine with fewer side effects. Two other vasodilators, budralazine (28) and pinacidil (29) may owe some of their activity to calcium channel blockade.Anthranilamlde (WIN 48,049) lowers blood pressure in monkeys without accompanying tachycardia. The cardiovascular adverse effects associated with quinidine therapy are hypotension and tachycardia, both of which are related to its a-adrenoceptor blocking actions. The tachycardia may be a reflex adjustment to the fall in blood pressure or may also be a direct action of the dmg on sympathetic nerve terminals leading to an increased release of NE. Quinidine also produces ringing in the ears (cinchonism) (1,2). 

The parallelization of crystallites, occurring as a result of fiber drawing, which consists in assuming by crystallite axes-positions more or less mutually parallel, leads to the development of texture within the fiber. In the case of PET fibers, this is a specific texture, different from that of other kinds of chemical fibers. It is called axial-tilted texture. The occurrence of such a texture is proved by the displacement of x-ray reflexes of paratropic lattice planes in relation to the equator of the texture dif-fractogram and by the deviation from the rectilinear arrangement of oblique diffraction planes. With the preservation of the principle of rotational symmetry, the inclination of all the crystallites axes in relation to the fiber axis is a characteristic of such a type of texture. Re-examining the four conditions, one notices that the congruence of graphs as defined here establishes a reflexive, symmetric, and transitive relation between graphs. Observe that (IV) does not involve an arbitrary set but a group of permutations. 

Adverse reactions seen with magnesium administration are rare. If they do occur, they are most likely related to overdose and may include flushing, sweating, hypotension, depressed reflexes, muscle weakness, and circulatory collapse (see Display 58-2). 

Be aware of, anticipate and avoid the Normal Chemistiy Education reflex, i.e. the introduction into design and teaching of more chemical concepts than are needed for the chosen curriculum emphasis. Alternatively, deal in time with any difficulties related to the dominant school chemistiy curriculum at all stages of development, starting with the initial vision and the first design of the curriculum.

Drugs related to PCP are known to alter the carotid sinus reflex. Mechanical stimulation of the carotid sinus in the neck normally results in a slowing of heart rate and a decrease in blood pressure. Carotid sinus stimulation, coupled with the effects of PCP on blood vessels, might result in a marked fall in the blood pressure that could lead, ultimately, to death. Individuals intoxicated with PCP may be at a higher risk to complications of carotid compression neck holds. Hence, additional cases would be expected to become medicolegal issues. 

Morphine and related opiates are known to suppress the cough reflex these compounds have thus been used extensively in antitussive preparations. Since this activity is not directly related to the analgesic potency, the ideal agent is one that has much reduced analgesic activity and thus, presumably, lower addiction potential.
