A continuing periodic change in a displacement with respect to a fixed reference. The motion will repeat after a certain interval of time. Vibration analysis monitors the noise or vibrations generated by plant machinery or systems to determine their actual operating condition. STEL Short Term Exposure Limit (STEL) refers to a safe level of exposure (see also TLV) from inhalation tor a continuous period of time that is short (by OSHA standards either a 15 minutes or 5 minutes of continuous exposure). The concentration established by the STEL (usually in ppm) should not be exceeded during that period of exposure, and further, the time limit of continuous exposure should not be exceeded, else there is a health risk. [Pg.259]

Quality control includes such procedures as checking for proper identification of samples, checking reagent lot numbers and utilities, etc. Control charts should be maintained for both equipment as well as analytical procedure by measurement of QC samples [16]. The variations of the maximum temperature (T ax) with peak power were reported where each curve was related to a pulse period. As illustrated in Fig. 1, the activated carbon displays the highest conversion and selectivity among all the catalysts during the initial reaction period, however, its catalytic activity continues to decrease during the reaction, which is probably caused by coke deposition in the micropores. By contrast, the reaction over the CNF composites treated in air and HN03 can reach a pseudo-steady state after about 200 min. Similiar transient state is also observed on the CNFs and the untreated composite. Table 3 collects the kinetic results after 300 min on stream over catalysts tested for the ODE, in which the activity is referred to the BET surface area.
